I have the oem premium twill softtop and my wife has a sunrider on her JL. Never any issues with leaks or even issues with the brushes damaging the material.

The Sunrider should/will hold up.
But ? that ppl use the drive-thru car washes regularly for their rides...
Ha! You should see the places I drive my JT - the car wash is the least of my worries. ;-) That said, with my rack, I don't take it through an automated wash.

Hello,
I was looking for some feedback on those folks who run with the Sunrider top.
I like a clean vehicle and I have a monthly, unlimited plan at a local drive thru carwash that I typically run through once a week. I like the idea of being able to just flip the top up and down rather quickly, but I have concerns on whether it would survive repeated trips through the carwash.
It’s completely fine with brushless automatics. Definitely don’t do it with one that isn’t brushless. I’ve run mine through brushless automatics countless times.

Meh, it’s a utility vehicle, not an expensive show piece. Why buy one if your not going to use it for its intended purpose?

I'd argue that Gladiators ARE quite expensive for what they are, and some people LOVE to show them off. So why can't the rig be both utilitarian and expensive pieces of machinery that their owners love to show off?? Those things are not mutually exclusive. (Case & point)
What if someone's intended purpose is simply to cruise and flex? Do they not qualify as "real" Jeep fans if they're not using their JTs to haul lumber through unpaved trails?

But I get what you're saying...

I personally just do not subscribe to the notion of "since its a 'utility vehicle', I don't need to give it the level of care I would any other vehicle I own". I personally prefer to take care of my stuff a certain way - like cars... I generally don't like to run them through automated car washes. Don't get me wrong... I do it too... I'd be a hypocrite if I said I never did. I just don't if I have the time/opportunity to wash them myself. (But on occasion, I admit I'll use them if my care is exceptionally dirty and I have no time to do it myself.)
But hey man, you do you. It's your ride. Do with your car as you wish.

Also... I understand and get the notion of "pinstripes" and dents/bruises gotten from off-roading through brush and tight, rocky trails - and how those are "earned" stripes and badges of honor.
Scars are cool when you get them dive bar brawls, contact and extreme sports... not so much from slipping on a banana peel or falling off a kiddie carousel. Analogous to getting pinstriped by rough brush on a trail, vs. swirl marks from car-wash scrubbers carrying brake dust from the hundreds of other cars ahead of you...

Again... just one guy's opinion... I might be the only one that feels that way, and that's cool too, homie...

I think you need to up your morning caffeine intake. ;)
LMAO...100% true!

I read that as if you were having issues with your Sunrider from taking the doors off.
