Now I gotta buy one.
Took a red Sport S for a short drive tonight, along with the Mrs. We both really liked it. Much tighter and refined than I expected. Steering was certainly not what I would consider loose at all. Not quite as tight as our '15 Durango, but felt really good. Had the hard top, no liner. I didn't notice any wind noise; my wife did though. Keep in mind my daily driver is a 2006 Suburban 2500, 8.1 4x4. Nothing tight or refined about that one.
Can't imagine how the new Ram 1500 must ride. The JT felt great. Their was a little jiggle after hitting a bump; reminded me I was in a truck! The power seemed just fine to me; I didn't push it. It had the Max Tow Pkg (4.10s). Felt good. Yeah, the 'upgrade tire' with the Max Tow is not much, as was discussed on another thread. The stereo upgrade sounds pretty good, but not as good as the standard stereo in our Durango. That one really is impressive for a standard set up.
The back seat is indeed roomy, but the seat had what felt like an 'angle' in the transition between the bottom and the backrest that I didn't love. Prolly not a big deal; haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else.
It had the Off Road Pages and the Dual Zone Climate Control, which I didn't think was available on the Sport S. That's great for us. My wife has a comfort zone of about 3 degrees variance. Nonetheless, she's good to go on this purchase.
And oh yeah: her birthday is . . .
