Well, i snapped the PCV return vent fitting off. Had to drill out the plastic in the brass section, then carefully flake out the bits to clear the threads out. Then tapered and adjusted the 2.5 threads left on that npt fitting enough to thread in. I blue loctited it heavy, lmfao. Somebody rolled up and I let myself get distracted/agitated which lead to me gorilla-ing the first step of the install. Ugh.
Rest of install was very smooth. Popped grill, but just tilted it enough to get access to the duct I have to remove. Which just jams air under the OEM airbox, not direct in any sense. Which I had concerns about. Removing it does not seem to affect anything.
Wow, this intake is loud! Thing howls 4k and above WOT. Its more audible than my exhaust in most cases, lmfao! Should have gone ATAK over S Type, lol
Talking with Outerwears about a prefilter. Hopefully they have something. K&N wants 115 bucks for theirs, geez man.
Overall quality of the intake was meh. Its a bunch of plastic. Stainless bolts, brass inserts, so no concern for corrosion. Pulls air samevplace and height as OEM, so no additional water threat there. Filtration is a concern. If I can't get a prefilter, I may buy a different aftermarket cone filter.
Overall, it is just noise, and its louder than I expected! Which is great!
