Re-Posting this thread because I had it in the wrong forum.

I had the Westin Pro-E electric running boards installed on my 23 Gladiator from one of the dodge dealerships (Not my first choice, was a gift from my dad and he wanted to get it installed for me while I was home. Thoughtful) Anyways, the dealership did such a horrible job installing them leaving a huge space between the step and the jeep (not flush) as well as installed the off switch underneath the passenger seat…

I’m wondering if anyone has experience with electric side steps and knows how to fix the space between the step and the jeep?

The fix is still to inspect and then possibly re-install them where you want them, or pay someone to do that work for you. None of your provided images are of the steps extended or show the mounting position of the motors, hinges, or brackets, so it is gonna be hard for anyone here to provide definitive information about your specific scenario.

Here is the complete installation manual. Directly from the Westin site.

https://www.westinautomotive.com/images/ePIM/original/75-2924165-RevA.pdf

Here is a (very) short video of them being bolted on, and used.

Here is a video outlining the installation of these for a 2023 JL Unlimited.

Given all those examples, I would presume you would at least get a clear picture of how they SHOULD be mounted, and then compare that with how yours ARE mounted.

Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I’m thinking I will have to get my hands dirty and uninstall/reinstall myself.
The mechanic at the dealership did have the instructions but I guess decided not to follow through.

thanks again!

Looks like they installed the ones meant for the Wrangler. Westin's own pictures for the Gladiator show them going from front to rear fender lip and those look a bit short. Might be part of the reason the cab to step gap is there.

Oh wow, you could be right.. it’s been a few months since they’ve been installed, I might be SOL to exchange with the company.

Where they customer supplied to the dealer for the install or did the dealership recommend, source and sell these? If the latter, I would be putting a boot on their neck to make it right.

No, my dad purchased them online and then found the dealership near him that said they could install them. It was all a gift and he feels extremely horrible it was installed so poorly. We went back to the dealership and told them all of the things that were wrong but they didn’t do a thing to fix it. The mechanic clearly did not follow the instructions or knew what he was doing. Also used the old hardware for the original rock guards and some of the new hardware to install.

Needless to say they got a bad review and heard the dealership is now under new management.

Could always take them off and sell to a Wrangler owner to recover something and go from there. I know that leaves a weird dynamic with dad that needs to be smoothed over.

yeah, I do really like the steps, it just bothers me every time I look at them. Something you just can’t Unsee.
