Engine Running Rough

I think we made progress. I talked directly to the mechanic/tech. He drove it, he felt it he explained that the engine and transmission don't always agree with what should be going on and I am getting this worse than other vehicles. He reprogrammed the transmission and I have noticed a huge improvement. Why couldn't they have done this the first time?

I bet most Gladiators experience this at some point in the RPM range ... some are more sensitive to it. I feel something similar under low load conditions and the transmission kind of lags, but then it will shift and all is good again. Don't be too frustrated at your dealer ... the techs are having to diagnose problems from a platform that is quite complex. I always make an effort to offer up as much information as I possibly can for them to work with.... sometimes it takes more than one visit to resolve the issue.

Being nice is always the right thing to do and it usually works out. That was the frustrating part, I painstakingly described all that was going and it never got anywhere, to not notice what this Gladiator was doing you had to be ignoring it on purpose.

Mine just feels like it runs rough when the auto stop shuts it down and then you take your foot off the brake and it cranks back up. Like it just idles rough. This may be a Pentastar thing. I'm used to inline motors that run smoooooth. Anybody?

I just test drove a Mojave, and it had a slight rough idle and initially when accelerating. Could have been the gas,or just from sitting around. Test drove two other JTs a while back and had no issues.
