Summer fuel.
Interesting, i never heard of this. wonder What the need for winter fuel would be here in SoCal? I thought maybe the engine was breaking in But was hoping for more than 1mpg.

First, summer fuel versus winter fuel. Doesn't matter where you live, you get winter fuel. The refineries don't know end destination of fuel they are making, so there is a summer blend and a winter blend.

Second, yes, turning off the Electronic Stability Control will affect your MPG to a minor degree. By turning it off you are removing the electronic restrictions the ESC creates.
I have mentioned this several times and have witnessed it in every vehicle I've owned that's had some form of ESC in it.

Sidebar to the discussion on the ESC, my sway control/WD trailer hitch tells me to disengage the TSC (trailer sway control) when towing with the SC/WD hitch. You have to turn off the ESC to disengage the TSC.
