Have the factory aux switches in my 23 JTRD and have recently wired up lights to switch 2 and a relay for a winch power disconnect to switch 4. In the switch settings there is an option for battery or ignition which from what I have read determine whether the circuit can be powered when the Jeep is not running. The issue that I have is even with the setting selected to ignition, I am still able to turn on the circuit when the engine is not running. Has anyone else run across this?

Ignition doesn't mean engine running it means ignition in ACC or RUN I think.

I think that is correct. Setting them for Battery means they can be turned on at any time, which also allows you to drain the battery to a point where the truck won't start (I'm not sure if it has a safety cut-off to prevent discharge).

Ah, I guess that kinda makes sense. Although having it on ignition but not running still doesn't prevent someone from draining the battery. My use case is I only wanted to power the winch isolator relay if the engine was running. Oh well not a big deal.
