Well.. I mounted up some 35 12.5 17 bfg k02 on my factory spare steel wheel. I've got (5). Here's a couple pictures. I had some steel 16" wheels from my jku from back in the day. I took the center cap part out and paint them black.. enjoy.

Are the steel wheels heavier than OEM aluminum wheels? And by how much?

Dig it. Doing the same thing except using Kenda Klever 35's.

@A2, I have a Gobi Sport. Came with silver alloy rims. Looked very odd to me. I bought a set of the factory black sport rims to replace the silver alloy rims. I weighed the alloy rim/tire before I swapped them. The alloy rim/tire weighed 58.x . After the swap I weighed the black sport rim/tire. It came in at 60.x I imagine the factory spare rim is pretty close to the factory black sport rim. So maybe a couple of pounds extra per wheel. Picture is attached. Tire is not mounted yet :)

Hope this helps,

greg

‘Tastes great and less filling’ that seems like a win win. I’d love to see them painted to match the sting gray.

And for those of you who are interested, I picked up my Kenda Klever 35/10.5/17 mounted in factory spare rims this morning. DANG they are heavy.

58 lbs for the alloy with 245’s , 60 lbs for the factory steel with 245’s, 93 for the factory steel with 35’s ?

I like that. Starting to rethink the Rubicon take-offs I put on my Sport, especially after realizing the stock 33" tires alone weigh 64 pounds each.

My 35 12.5 17 weigh in at 68lbs each.. not including the steel wheel

My spare is mounted on my stock steelie and I like the looks of it. It looked cool mounted when I broke a valvestem too

The only problem is the offset

I'm thinking about running the steelies with 33s or 35s. What's the problem with the offset? Thanks

The offset will clear the 35 Toyo MTs I have on it but it was more of an issue of my aftermarket wheels having a -24 offset and causing me to track funny above 70mph

I've never put it on the front but it *could* cause rubbing at full lock

What is the part number for your center caps? How do they attach?
