I've watched videos where people have replaced their driveshafts on their JT's and no mention of vibrations. That's what got me scratching my head.
Most have a FAD so no matter how off their front angles are it won't vibrate (unless you're in snow country and drive highway speeds in 4wd). I believe the power wagon front axles are hi pinion which really helps the angle.

That would explain it. The low pinion is absolutely the issue with these axles.

What gets me. On my Power Wagon. The rear driveshaft was one piece that was longer than what's on the JT. The front driveshaft had a u joint with a cardan joint with a steeper angle because of the 4" lift. No FAD on the front axle, with no vibrations. I can't wrap my head around this. There have been reports of aftermarket driveshafts been out of balance right out of the box. Wondering if the driveshafts are out of phase some what too.
Had the same thought/question. I was convinced some of these HD trucks had single pieces that were definitely longer/thicker than ours.

Anyways, here’s some pics on how I corrected for my bent crossmember.

I do know I have had driveshaft get bent before and took to private driveshaft shop and afterwards zero vibration.
Why not take the driveshafts to a driveshaft shop and have them checked for balance.?

Not how it works at all. It depends on engine torque output, road speed vs. throttle position and more. The clutches are applied by the computer based on many factors, and it's got to be running and in those conditions before it's locked. The shafts will not be locked while you are under it trying to turn things - engine must be running to lock the clutches in any t-case shifter position.

I have JSCAN screen shots showing how it works.
I know this is a bit old. But, that's not the case. Transfercase on the 2,4A, 4H, 4L tcase is most definitely locked when the engine is off if in 4H or 4L.

I’ll have to check mine.
