Hi All,

Been going back and forth on this for a bit since I got rid of my hardtop for a twill soft top...

I found a great deal on a Bestop Supertop2 in Twill and I am thinking of going for it. What does everyone think? The Jeep looks better with the tan Softopper or with the Twill Bestop? I didn't have a pic of a sarge green example but here was the one in the Driving Line review:

Cheers

I’m a sucker for green and tan personally, it looks very classic US military. If you end up going with the black I’d consider buying your tan one, if you end up getting rid of it. Ultimately it’s up to you, either color choice looks good with green.

Same here. The Tan and Green (as well as Tan and Black) are just classic looking. Both work.

Neither. Gladiators look horrible with any topper.

Lol appreciate the perspective. I actually prefer tonneau from an appearance perspective and that is one of the things that draw me to the bestop too, as I can use the rails for their tonneau. I just got the new single drawer Decked system so tonneau isn’t as necessary, but Bestop also plays nicer with it since the bars don’t hang below the rails like the Softopper.

Cheers

I pulled the trigger on the Bestop Supertop! I think it looks great and works better with my Decked system. Certainly some pros and cons between Softopper and Bestop though. The zippers are certainly a pain in the ass with new fabric and opening any of the sides and folding it down are much easier on the Softopper. Hoping it will be as water tight as the Softopper was at least.

Cheers

I know this is an old thread, but I saw you had a picture of your truck with the tan before you got the bestop and wondering if you had any other pictures? I'm trying to decide myself.

Wish there was a tan soft top option from the factory. I would have loved a tan soft top and tan seats with my HVY JTM

I went and picked one up. Luckily it arrived with a hole in it and I was able to return it because I did not like it.
It leaked all over the place, the hardware felt super cheap and flimsy. Terrible plastic brackets to hold the rear bar, the windows were thin and I could tell they'd just fall apart in the winter if you're actually trying to get in and out of your bed, the hinge pin that all the weight of the thing is sitting on is thin and flimsy. It looks stupid IMO with the twill soft top(I think this would carry over to the black one as well, and maybe even the twill version just because of how it sits). There is a flap on the front that's supposed to keep the front window from flapping around and you have to drill snaps into your truck, or use velcro that will never hold. Either method isn't exactly usable if you have the trail rails. The snaps on the side are pretty weak, and while I think that's kind of not a terrible thing, the ones by the front could pop off WAY too easy.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience and the hassle you experienced, Softopper is a great company with great products so I'm surprised to hear your feedback, but I’m glad to hear you were able to return your Softopper and now have a Black Twill Supertop for Truck 2! Your Gladiator looked great with the tan Softopper, and I’m sorry it didn’t work out, but the Supertop for Truck 2 looks just as amazing. It sounds like you’re happy with your purchase, which is great to hear!

If you ever need any assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Customer Service team at 800.845.3567 (option 3), Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM MT. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I don't have a twill supertop for truck 2, though I might pick one up one day if I can get a used one cheap enough.

This was one of the main reasons I switched to the Bestop...Softopper looks much better with the hard top on the truck in my opinion because it lines up perfectly and materials don't clash. Whereas the twill Bestop matches the twill soft top material and height perfectly. I originally had a black hard top on the Jeep with the Softopper, then once I swapped to twill soft top I decided to change.

In my opinion, if you have a hardtop go Softopper. If you have a soft top go Bestop.
