I suggested and mocked up a “golden badge” as a suggestion to present and affix to the winners LE. hope it inspired along with the rest of my video.

We shot a video, it was 1:49 originally. We edited it then decided to re-shoot it. Our re-shoot was 1:13. Then I went to upload it but it was too big. My wife worked some sort of voodoo on it and it was somehow less than 10mb so we submitted it a few days before the deadline.
It would be interesting to know how many they received.
All we can do now is wait.
5/13?

My problem is that I kept thinking of stuff I wish I had said. I should have waited till the last minute to make sure I made all my changes

I knew I’d never win as I am not a media savvy photogenic 53 year old male. But it was a lot of fun for my 13 year old daughter for us to make a video and have fun entering the contest. For me, that was a priceless moment!!!

Good luck to all of you, and to the winner—-enjoy your prize!

Mine was only 30 seconds to stay under the 10mb limit, didnt know anything about compressing it. Wish I had read this before the end of the submission deadline.

The running joke is that none of us discussed the subject and @steveale didn't start this thread until the after the submission deadline to limit the competition. But like I said earlier I never win anything but my wife and kids got to do their thing in front of a camera so it was worth the effort. Plus when the wife found the compression app it gave her something to hold over my head for a few days so she is happy.

Sent my video in with a couple hours to spare. Like all of you it took some computer savvy quirks to compress the file. Good luck everybody. This was my first video contest and the family was excited to join in.

Im with you all and it was such pain for me that I never go it compressed to the right size and the contest closed as I tried to submit a zipped copy last minute! So here is mine for your enjoyment since its not apart of the contest!

Despite your lovely wife "having a trunk," ;), I must say, being a Retired-Vet, that I was emotionally moved by this thoughtful sincere and moving video . . . quite reflective for me, for myself and thinking of the veteran dad I never was able to know . . . thanks.

I really hope someone in this forum wins it. I didn't submit because the contest was void in MD, good thing I read the fine print before I shot the video LOL
If a person in this forum wins it, that person should schedule celebratory forum meetups across the way in different cities so that we can cheer you on your year long adventure ;)

If I should win I couldn't take a year off work so I hope that was just a marketing angle. One thing about me is if I am not at work earning money I am out spending it, and I can spend it a whole lot faster than I can earn it. I am very fortunate that both my wife and I have very good careers and like most families, who can afford a $60k toy, $100k isn't near enough to allow me to drive around in our Gladiator for a year, not to mention the truant officer would arrest and haul or kids in.

LOL, as far as healthcare we are part of the VA so if anyone gets sick we can make an appointment and when we get back from our trip after a year it will almost be time for our appointment.
