using an AWD rental Lincoln Navigator.
That was a nailbiter.
My son-in-law's rental 4x4 Tacoma was more confidence inspiring.

you got a pretty sweet little website. But thankfully I have my own Mojave for when i wanna spend a week or 2 at the family home in the Banks. And yes I'm totally guilty of hitting those hard pack whoops left by the tide, a little too fast, when no one is looking. ?

Same here, I'm sure like you we exercise a good amount of common sense while wheeling the beach. I do it late at night and have my full light pack on.

yeah a lot goes into actually doing it. we normally have 2-3 rigs out on we have em stationed on start point and end. then we take turns running with all lights on. radio went conditions are no longer favorable and shut it down. conditions being horse, car, po-po spotted or tide coming in to far.

The Willys package in 2024 has a few nice upgrades so that it is not just a Sport S with decals. I wish they would do Islander but more like the JK one with very distinctive seats etc...
