First Granite Crystal VIN# Post Here

I spoke to the concierge today I am still in C purgatory and she said production should start in 2 weeks.

Nice! So 2 Granite VINs today, and Sting-Gray order banks opened. It's a start. Maybe Granite LEs will get built soon after all!

So if non-LE Granites are getting VINs/D status 1 week before builds are suppose to start (6/20), then hopefully Granite LEs will get VINs 7/1 (or a few days earlier due to the holiday in between).

Spoke to Barbara at Concierge today... first time I’ve called... she found me in their data base, and I am indeed in C status! But, she assured me our Granite LE’s would be rolling down the production line “in a couple weeks!” And I’d be in D and get my VIN “very soon!” (sigh...) Wonder if their reading from talking points handed down from HQ? ;{

So we now have another reference point. Sting-Grays are getting D status/VINs today. So both Granite (non-LE) and Sting-Gray went to D status 7 days before their first build dates.

If 7/8 job 1 date holds for Granite LEs, we should see VINs 7/1 (or a couple of days earlier due to holiday, assuming a couple of days of plant shut down). If we see VINs/D status earlier, that could indicate builds starting earlier than 7/8.

If that's true and if non-LE Granites start production next week (6/20), and if Granite LEs really lag by another ~2 weeks (7/8), the Granite LE folks should see VINs before the end of the month (lots of ifs, but Jeep isn't giving any of us definitive info).

Got my VIN yesterday. In D status.

No steel bumper
No matching hardtops or fenders
Spray In Bedliner was ordered
Weird thing was, when I was ordering with the dealer they got a notification that ordering the hard top headliners could cause delay so I said screw it. Give me the noise.

Many feel hotheads are better headliners anyway.

Basically same thing Concierge told me the other day... still no committal to a specific time frame, but definitely more positive in her exuberance about “it’ll be happening very soon...” than she was back when she’d always robotically repeat their talking point, “July 8th... July 8th... July 8th...”!
I think they’re feeling positive (and justifiably so), that they’re beating their estimated schedules! (Maybe only by a week or two, but that’s something!)
Don’t forget, these are officially 2020’s... other than the teaser on the Super Bowl, there hasn’t even been a single National TV Gladiator commercial yet! (A few local dealers are putting out ads, and they did roll out the glossy brochure at dealerships...) but until FCA starts peppering the airwaves with thrilling, eye catching, goosebump raising, Oscar level, heart pounding, tear wrenching, Sam Elliot narrated, 90 second mini-movies, extolling the epic awesomeness of GLADIATOR... they haven’t, technically, even introduced the Glad to the general public yet! Sure, it’s old news to those of us who live in “JEEP WORLD”... but, believe it or not, there are still folks out there, who when they see one say, “WTF is THAT!” ;{

Had a “come to Jeep” conversation with my wife. She had a dream that we took the money we’ve saved for the Granite LE and bought a new GTI leaving us with no car note and money in the bank!!! What?! Man, I hope that VIN comes soon. I continue to use my Jeep hypnosis but I’m not sure how much longer I can hold on...
