Ugh. And to think I changed to Granite in the 11th hour after being positive I wanted White since the beginning!
When I placed my LE order on 4/4, Granite had not (yet) been designated a “Late Availability” Color! Never heard about the late change of designation until days after the launch window had closed. Someone in another thread said, “Late Availability” could mean 2021! Many others, in various threads, have mentioned “stockpiles of LE’s” already built, just waiting for chosen paint... lol... the frame is always painted first, prior to assembly! ;{

Well, I think it had, but was another poor communication issue.

I say this as I was all gooney-goo-goo Gator, then discovered they wouldn't allow a Gator LE
I then went all bwaaa Granite, but when I called to throw money at Spencer in IA, he told me Granite would be a Late Availability.

k, I went Billet. it's almost identical to my current ZR2, looks sharp. I'll be good until I order my Gator Diesel in 1.5-2 years...

It has been late availability since the beginning. They recently changed it on the website, however. So, it may not be officially late availability like gator, gobi, punkn, and hydroblue, but rather late availability for the first run of colors.

Where are you seeing Granite as "late availability"? It was late on Jeep.com prior to the pricing announcement on 3/31, but since then it has not been listed as late availability. Jeep order guide also does not list Granite as late availability. (https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/...adiator-jt-order-guide-updated-monthly.15368/).

Reality is it's not late availability (i.e. you can order Granite when order banks open), but not early availability either (pre-specs aren't being made in Granite).

FCA Concierge confirmed with me that Granite will be last in line for production on the LE but then again we already came to that conclusion...... It is available to be ordered, where as Gobi/Gator etc aren't, but it is definitely in the slow lane... :headbang:

But since pre-specs aren't being made in Granite, Granite LE's truly are the Launch Edition for Granite! See, there is an upside to all of this! :like:

But it was on the list of choices for LEs!
Ahhh... of course... the era of “politi-speak” parsing... FCA, “It’s not Late Availability for the order banks, but not early availability either... so, even though we offered it for LEs, we can’t provide it (to LE purchasers) until the order banks open... it’s a “Fairness & Equality” thing, you understand...” lol! SMH! ;{

Just called the concierge to confirm my order. Funny they said I wasn't in their system by VON but verified my info and dealer including sales person. I then asked about switching my color from Granite and she told me that I could switch and if I switched I would get my JT earlier than waiting for Granite, which will be produced last. I am so weak. I couldn't help myself. I switched to the dark side and jumped lines. That only means that the Granite line will speed up big time and anyone who has ordered White will be screwed by my decision! Sorry for any inconvenience that I may have caused but my White JT will be produced next month according to the concierge! Please give me a VIN now, pretty please!

EDIT: Well that was nice while it lasted....Jeep just called back and since I am in pre-production already, I am in the granite line no matter what....That is forced patience I guess.....

Here's to no summer with a JT! Better keep working on the CJ7 then.....

Based on @pilotpat 's attempt to change from Granite to White this AM, it does look like Granite is in pre-production (even if we don't have VINs, build dates, etc.). First JT off the line was silver. Some color has to be first, another one has to be last. No one said Granite would be the first LE built. Yes it looks like the Granites will be at the end of the LE builds, but right now they will still likely be built before any general custom order (since those banks still aren't open).

When they first posted the gladiator on the Jeep.com website it was listed as late availability, that changed somewhere around April 4-6th. Now it’s just listed as a normal time frame color.

After calling the concierge, I got a bit more info.

Granite is being made last out of launch editions.

There is a reason, It is a more complex paint job. They can't simply go from granite to red, black, white, or silver. However they can go the other way, from red,white,black,silver - to granite. Hence it being in the back of the line. (I assume this has to do with the 'crystal' portion of the color name)

You cannot change paint color once you're VON has reached scheduled status.
