If it is the top that is the problem, I could live with a black top temporarily. And also send a voucher to have my dealers body shop paint it for free.

FYI. The black top is plastic and wouldn't take paint like the painted tops.

Better, give us the soft top then ship the color matched top later. Know it won't happen and would be a logistics nightmare, but would love that.

There are some other threads saying that they've stopped taking orders on color matched tops (several or all colors), as well as holding built JTs for spray in bedliners. Sounds like they are trying to prioritize/fast track painting Granite tops then build and finish bedliners for LEs. So maybe there is hope that Jeep thinks Granite LEs will start moving soon.

If the real problem is the paint matching then, at a minimum, they should offer the ability to switch to the black fenders and black top... Basic customer service is about offering solutions and/or information both of which are supremely lacking in this case.

If the real problem is the paint matching... it should be resolved in a matter of days (if not hours)! It’s not quantum physics! Clearly, the “paint match” excuse is bullshit! Why the delay... why the cavalier attitude from FCA... is beyond me. As much as I love Jeep... I’m beginning to detest it’s uncaring, disrespectful, disloyal (to its most loyal followers), lying, downright cruel, Parent company, FCA. There is NO legitimate excuse for the Launch Edition delay! It is feckless, ineptitude on FCA’s part... pure and simple... and it will haunt the company’s reputation for decades. ;{

Starting to feel sorry for Paige and Barb... they can only repeat the lies their superiors feed them... and surely, their own logic, reason, and common sense, tells them... it can’t take weeks (let alone months), to match paint! (My Home Depot can do it in minutes!) ;{

Might have to cancel the LE order, dealer wont get back to me. Found a black rubicon at another dealer all that i see that its missing is the front camera and the speaker. They will give me a better deal also

FYI, on one of the FB groups, someone who works in the factory confirmed the tops are outsourced (didn't know the name of the subcontractor), but rest of the vehicle is painted in house. So basically what we already knew, even if no one at Jeep will admit it.

FYI, on one of the FB groups, someone who works in the factory confirmed the tops are outsourced (didn't know the name of the subcontractor), but rest of the vehicle is painted in house. So basically what we already knew, even if no one at Jeep will admit it.

Pathetic. Come on FCA! Rookie mistake. You don’t send parts, that require matching paint, to two different facilities to paint them! Matching paint parts, that assemble together, must be painted with the SAME batch of paint! Preferably by the same facility!
So, now how long is it gonna take for some genius at FCA to come up with the obvious solution? Cancel the sub-contract, bring the tops back to the factory, and paint them using the same paint they’re currently painting the rest of the parts with. Then it will match... just like it does on all the thousands of GCM Wrangler Freedom tops (all factory painted) currently on the road. ;{

On Friday, my days in D hit 45, so my case was escalated. Yesterday I received an email from FCA essentially providing no new information and stating that, yes, I was in D. But this morning I did a check with Jeep Chat and the lady told my I had only been in D since 7/29. I'm not entirely sure what to make of this. It feels like a harbinger for more inexhaustible toil.

I asked that exact question to them, my escalation case manager, and my dealers FCA rep about a month ago. Still waiting on Paige to call me back with an update. My escalation manager transferred me to incentives who told me they don't handle those types of requests. and I never heard back from the FCA rep. soooooooo nothing.

I still think it is more than just the tops. I have a dual top with black not painted. I do have painted fenders. I went to D1 then back to D. So basically in D for 7 weeks. My case was escalated too and yesterday I received a message from Jeff at customer service just stating still in D but should change “soon”. No reason why. No one will say anything other than parts are being gathered for build.

I don’t know anymore. My dealer just delivered one with painted fenders and black hardtop. Mine was ordered 6-10-19 also and sounds very similar to your build and I briefly went to D1 with a build date of this past Friday. Moved back tomD about 2 weeks ago and no reason why. I simply don’t know what it could be. You are having yours delivered with same exterior build and mine is still in D.
