So can we expect the Falken Wildpeak M/T to be the optional tire then? I thought the JLR's were getting the KO2 and KM2, wonder what determined the need to differentiate or if FCA is switching to Falken for both.
JT Rubicon has a choice of Falken AT or M/T
JL Rubicon has a choice of KO2 or Falken M/T

perhaps they are rate for a heavier load

Hey Steffen707 I gotta hand it to you for the creativity in the actual VIN number created. And to lead folks to think that you actually could zoom in on a VIN number of a truck rolling down a production line. And the creativity to make that sticker! Well done my man. You really should give it a try in Hollywood. They might swallow it hook, line and sinker. Well played pal, well played. As for the rest of it I am just as jacked as you and everyone else to is to see a Gladiator coming off of an assembly line. This is indeed a good sign.
Lol, thanks. I actually stumbled a cross a JL thread where somebody made a JL Vin decoding pdf, I modeled it after that with a few tweaks of course.

I just looked at both BFG KO2 & Falken AT's 285/70R17, the E-rated versions of both are spec'd the same = 3,195#
That's why the head engineer said they were chosen ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I believe the KO2s on the JL are C-rated. But it's probably just cost.

Could also be some stability issues (tread squirm and such) that would have prevented the 6000# tow rating on the Rubicon if the BFGs were used. Interestingly, if you pick the MT's, you get a 97mph speed limiter.
In the C load range tires, the Wildpeak ATs have a slightly higher (=78#) load rating than the BFG. The Wildpeak MT has the same 2755# rating (as the BFGs)
We have that size Wildpeak AT on out JKU-R and have no complaints.

That makes sense = you wouldn't want a warehouse full of BFG KOs, half C-rated / half E-rated = Bubba might accidentally put those C-rated ones on a Gladiator max tow & that would be no Bueno -

The JT Tires are "C" rated as well- the 2755# of the BFGs and Falken MT gives you a 5510# axle load rating.

Stock JTR has some serious wheel space. The stock tires look tiny and appears to have more room than a stock JLUR.
