I put mine on before starting a trail. I do it when stopped to air down. Theft isn’t an issue where I am. I just don’t like the movement wearing on the bumper tabs.

I walked up on a guy taking my rear ones off on my JKU in a Walmart parking lot about 4yrs ago. He had one off and was working on the other and not even worrying about someone seeing him. I took 3 steps and kicked him square in the back of head with some steel toe sh*t kickers on. He ran off and after that I just cranked them down really well now so you need a tool to remove them. Haven't had any issues since but it definitely sucks when someone takes something from you, big or small. I hate thieves!
after he hit the ground i would have stomped his ass again, then left him laying there in the lot

Hmmmmm...never really even thought of that. I check them regularly but we had been wheeling pretty hard in Flag and Sedona and could have bounced it loose.

Faith in humanity partially restored ?......with a dab of blue or red.
I've bounced one off before on the way to Crown King. Now I always tighten them before and after wheeling

I carry shackles but if using them on the bumper, I would have a strap attached so using Loctite or gorilla tightening them would be a problem if the Jeep is stuck somewhere "unpleasant." I keep them under the rear seat.

That just might work with half of the American public. Confuse the shit out of them.
