Hmmmmm...never really even thought of that. I check them regularly but we had been wheeling pretty hard in Flag and Sedona and could have bounced it loose.

Faith in humanity partially restored 😁......with a dab of blue or red.
I love the Loctite ® idea

EXACTLY - makes one feel violated. Like when our Christmas decorations were taken from the front yard - 25' from our front window. Some of them we had JUST BOUGHT 3 days before. It was bad enough it was gone - a week before Christmas no less, but we felt so - well, you know - someone was HERE and messed with our stuff and drove away with it.
Exactly this.

Who in their right minds messes with Santa and Christmas ?! Barbarians!!!

How can you use shackles if they are locktighted or welded, what am I missing , I have mine in the truck if needed, have had them for years probably three trucks or so. Never thought about it until just now, and looked at pictures here, yup everybody has shackles on their trucks all the time , some are real nice and expensive looking. Uh I learned something new today!…..Jack

Ha! I thought you had to do this to be in “the club”. Maybe most in the pics are just putting them on for the picture. Ha! 😁😁

Well, guess it finally had to happen. I have Crosby 3/4” shackles on the front and rear bumpers. Just noticed this weekend that some douche boosted one of my rears. Thinking it was during our overnight stay in Sedona last weekend.

Other than a few drops of loc-tite, what are folks using as anti theft?
Why leave them mounted outside in the elements year round? So they can make noise over speed bumps? As Truck jewelry? What’s the point?

Seriously, throw them screw pin bow shackles in your recovery bag and leave ‘em locked up in the truck under the rear seat. They’ll be there when you need them.

Interestingly enough, I’ve had someone vandalize my Christmas decorations. Yanked half my lights right off the house. Ripped the plug clean off one of the strands. Not cheap lights either.

AND… I too lost one of my front shackles just this last week. I was sure someone had taken it. My son suggested that we may have lost it off-road the day before. He made the point that if someone had stolen it, they’d have taken both of them. He may be right. I hope he’s right. Replacements were ordered 2 mins after I noticed it was gone.
