Will you ship?
You cover the shipping, then sure.. We can haggle out a deal for shocks + shipping. These were on my JT for ~2 months before I moved to Falcons.

I have a Sport S with tow package (non-mt) and have the opportunity to pick up a set of stock Fox take offs for cheap and wonder if the ride will be stiffer than my stocks. My current setup is IMO pretty firm and don’t want to drop the cash on the Fox shocks if they are going to be any less firm than stock. Any advice would be appreciated. Also, if I need to start a new thread let me know and I’ll delete this comment.

The Rubicon/Fox take-offs I installed were a bit more "firm" than my Overland shocks.
I can't imagine the sport having really stiff shocks, but then I've not compared the shocks themselves.

I wonder like the many different spring combinations that the stock non-Fox shocks have different specs as well.

No. Sports will get xx shocks, Overland will get yy shocks, Rubicon will get their Fox shocks. It's a mistaken idea that they match shocks to different springs under the same JT level.
Look in parts books - it will not ask what springs are under the truck.
I've never in all of my years seen a company match shocks to springs on trucks and cars under $80,000.
You get up to certain levels of performance CARS - then we'll talk matching shocks.
These are trucks. Not auto-cross or rally vehicles.

I'm running the full Rubicon swap. I got an inch of lift and a much better ride over the stock sport S.
For $200. Totally worth it. I run my trails at 18psi. I get a bit of rubbing at full flex and will be adding a 1.5 Terraflex Leveling kit.

Retired, thank God
I was not happy with my Overland’s excessive rebounding when hitting bumps - particularly the rear. Too bouncy but I’m sure that’s the compromise that was made for a smoother on-road ride.

After a lot of reading on this forum and much consternation about all the choices in shocks and springs, I went with Fox 2.0 shocks and kept the original springs - at least for now.

Although it’s only been a few miles since the install, it’s an obvious improvement in damping over the stock shocks. Less rebounding and it seems more stable on the highway with less tendency to wander in cross winds, etc.

In the end, it’s all about what you’re wanting to do with your Jeep. The great thing (which is sometime the biggest problem) is that there are so many options and choices to make?

I replaced my Willys suspension with Rubicon front springs, max tow rear springs and Rubicon shocks. There is a difference but it isn't drastic. Wheel hop is less. But it's still pretty harsh on crappy back roads.

My Overland's rear end used to rebound a lot - it had a definite bounce. After putting on Rubicon "take off" shocks it was better. After a year, it's back to bouncy again. Almost like it was.
It's a harsher ride with the Rubicon front springs (the lower numbered versions) and the max tow rear springs. Not as smooth across our heat buckled roads and railroad tracks - pretty harsh, but on some dips and bumps that back end bouncing bugs me.
I'd say now after a year - all I gained was the thing now handles weight without sagging in the but so badly. Otherwise the nice ride is gone and the bouncy butt is back. I don't consider the Rubicon Fox take-off shocks to be a real improvement.

Each trim level has a range of springs it may get. Not all Rubicon springs will be the same, not all Sport S max tow springs will be the same.
Same for the Sport S max tow - your front springs may be stiffer, or less stiff, than what another Sport S max tow has.
now you have me wondering…
Could you post and/or send me pics of your jtmt rear spring part #s? Im sure a list exists somewhere of which ones are the most rigid.

Hey could I get an update on how it turned out? I’ve got the heavy diesel that bumps out on the smallest of lumps and the stick shock are crap.. I have a guy selling fox rubicon springs and shocks near me and thinking this might help… did all the other bits fit with the suspension? Cheers Pat

I finally went with Fox 2.5 with remote res and adjustable. Now I am happy. After the stock Ruby shocks then the Mopar 2 inch lift Fox 2,5s these new Fox are the best by far. Custom tuned by Accutune at no extra cost. .
