Saw that....and don't care at all. Using fluid film or amsoil metal protector from new has basically zero chance of harming anything. The issues are when people use those horrible rubber undercoatings or spray on bedliners.
So is fluid film paint safe? When i clean out this frame, I planned on using that or crc. Crc is cosmoline based, so I'm assuming it's good for paint on steel based off of the Mosins I've had.

it has no solvents and is non toxic.....its basically lanolin (sheeps wool oil). Seems about as safe as you can get as far as a rust protective spray. If ever necessary (for welding as an example) the fluid film would also be a bit easier to just rinse off with a pressure washer and some strong soaps. The amsoil metal protector and I believe the crc cosmoline stuff offer seriosu protection.....but can also take a ton of efforto to remove.

yep-- after trying EVERY paint-type "undercoating" while up here in the north---they ALL suck and can even make it worse. The only thing that i tried that actually worked was oil undercoat (whatever brand)

that being said--for salt, I:
-rinse out the undercarrige from every angle i can get--with garden hose. spray in the nooks and crannies and inside frame holes and cross members
lots of water-- dilute/risne it completely out

and since your roads are not covered in salt, wait till it rains and go for a drive--the spray will find and rinse salt off as well
