We planned to do all the trails but the gnats, mosquitoes and deer flies were tearing us up. Fossil Ledge was our favorite.

Heading South now we went to Holly Oaks then to Indiana Dunes National Park. We found another Sherwood Forest campground and added to IOverlander. Still no sighting of Robin Hood or Little John. $32 for site.

Next we headed to Badlands. It was very muddy and I feel more suited to ATV’s. But still a nice park. We got nailed for $90 for one night tent site with no water, elec, or table. Ouch.

Checked out a cool mill then on the road again. Getting good now. Rain all the way to Redbird SRA. The ladies said the mud was horrible and there was a vehicle already stuck on trail 3. I went in to assist. A fellow was stuck in a Subaru with his son and daughter. I have no idea how he got in there. The mud was BAD. We got him moving the Redbird Rescue had to save us both.

Still covered in mud and in the pouring rain we headed to Land between the Lakes and Turkey Bay Area. We cut the slop wheeling short and headed to a KOA for shelter and to wash clothes, tornado in the area!

I’ve been wanting to do Hawk’s Pride for awhile. Very nice park. Bargain at $25 park fee and $25 camp site. Would love to come back in the CJ buggy. Someone had a bad day with their toy hauler.

Next morning we headed to Stoney Lonsome to do their badge trails. We had a blast.

Over to Morris Mt and by the coolest haunted house ever.

Spent the night at another KOA last night near Meridian, Mississippi then drove home today. We had a blast.
No problems or issues except some new scrapes and dings and $30 at the car wash. A few things, state parks are a bargain if you are camping. Fuel gets more expensive the farther north you travel and Mississippi keeps Louisiana from winning the trophy for worst roads in the country. All in all we spent 12 nights in the RTT, spent on average $44/night for camp sites and drove about 4k miles. Enjoy!
