... They greased the bushings, moved a cable and bracket. I have not picked it up yet but when I spoke with the Serv Mgr today he told me the Willy's edition does not have a FAD. I have no clue if that is true but I find it odd that everyone in this forum has explained this issue perfectly. Picking up Jeep later today so I will update.
Ask them what specific bushings they greased, and what specific cable & bracket they moved.

Chances are that the Service Manager is confusing FAD with sway bar disconnect.

Ah, that makes sense.

Very easy to determine if it has FAD or not - look at the right side axle tube. If it goes all the way from the differential housing out to the knuckle without a break, it's a no-FAD setup. In other words, if it's like the left or driver side, no FAD. If there's any sort of a box there with any wires, it's got FAD.
Now why would the Willys version not have FAD??
Selec-trac full time transfer case optioned JTs and Wranglers still have the FAD castings and openings in the front axle, but they are blocked off. They also have CV joints in the front axle shafts rather than U-joints.

But there is this - not "SelecTrac" but "Willys does not.....

I spoke with the Serv Mgr today he told me the Willy's edition does not have a FAD.
It was also said:

Being from Michigan and it being below freezing I thought maybe something was sticking after using 4H a few times before the noise. I put it in 4H and the noise went away. Over the past 2 weeks I would swap back and forth and not once did it happen in 4H.
Nothing mentioned about 4 wheel auto, just putting it in 4H a few times. (and the noise was gone each time it was in 4H

So while it makes sense there's no FAD if this were SelecTrac, 4H auto was never mentioned, bushings were greased and the guy at the dealership said "Willys edition".

So - if this has 4H auto (is the newer SelecTrac system) then that makes sense there's no FAD, but none of the rest of it makes sense and the service manager was wrong in any case.

Ya get 5 points for pointing out no FAD in ST equipped trucks. SM loses 10 points for saying Willys edition has no FAD.

This is 100% wrong. I know because I have a 2021 JTM with Selec-Trac and it has the full FAD system.

Post a pic of your FAD solenoid please. I've seen Selec-trac front axles with the FAD blocked off with a plate.
Post a pic of one with a plate over it from the factory please. I've got no reason to state something as fact when it isn't.

See my edit above. I wasn't implying you are incorrect. I wanted to see it. It's likely I got confused with the 392 system.

I may have been thinking about a 392 Wrangler I worked on. If it has a 2wd mode, it may also have a FAD solenoid.
Correct, the 392 Wrangler is a completely different animal which does not have the FAD system, but still has the hole in the housing.

Just got it back from the Dealer. Took this pic to show the axle. I'm guessing that is the FAD but ignorant when it comes to things other than changing oil, tires etc. I did take it for a spin and I thought I heard the noise twice. I could be imagining it though. On a positive note...normally it would make the humming/vibration noise 10 times per minutes.

The invoice says
Lubed exhaust hanger bushings and repositioned a cable bracket. No further noise. LOL

Looks like I have the FAD issue. It happens from 50-65. 1900 miles, 2022 Mojave. Any suggestions on what to tell the dealership when I take it in?
