Installing a Dobinson's 2 Inch Lift (reputable Australian company) but have noticed a bend in the front right coil (driver side in a RHD Jeep).

It's my first time fitting a lift, but as far as I know I've done everything by the book. I included Rancho control arm geometry brackets to try address any caster issues but am worried that something is misaligned somewhere. Everything is connected but the track bar and control arms have not yet been torqued to spec, as I have just let the Jeep back down on her tyres.

Is this something an aftermarket lower isolator is designed to fix? Dobinson's sell their own, but I didn't think it would be necessary for a 2-inch lift.

For the time being, would there be any risks driving it as is?

The Dobinson coils are rated for heavy satic wieght capacity right ? They have a great rep. How much wieght you have upfront?

These are rated for 50-90kg to compensate for the ARB bulbar and winch up front, I'm probably pushing pretty close to the 90kg.

Not sure if i have my conversions wrong, But that seems pretty light ? The should not have any issues dealing with that wieght. Most def check your setup and hopefully its an easy fix

You're not wrong, it's about 198 lbs.

Something is definitely misaligned but I can't pinpoint what it is yet. I would have suspected the control arms, but I've already installed the Rancho geometry brackets to fix that.

I've ordered a pair of lower isolators and hoping that will help.

I'm sure someone on the forum knows the answer but it's been pretty quiet so far.

Mine had the Dobinson lift in when i purchased, same front springs, and the passenger side has the same bend. Now done 5,000 kms with it like that.

The only issue, which took me a while to work out, as i was new to Jeep and had a clunking noise, which i thought was drag link, ball joints, was totally lost as could work out the clunk.

Ended up being the spring hitting the inside of the bump stop.
You can see on the pic, jacked the body up to extend the spring.

Curiosity question here, with your backwards driving ;) looks like Jeep flipped the front track bar to mount on what you call the drivers side (us the passenger side), how did Jeep mount the rear track bar? Is the rear track bar frame mount also on your driver side?

I was trying to figure out if you also get cross talk between the front and back with track bars mounted on opposite sides of the frame like us.

Cheers mate, good to hear from another Jeep with Dobinson's.

Have you done anything to sort out the rubbing on the bump stop?

It looks like the installer of your lift kept the stock lower isolator, which I'm hoping is the underlying culprit of these alignment issues.

While it was extended i did my best to give the lip of the bump stop a file.
And i also put some duct tape around the spring section hitting.
This confirmed it was the cause of the clunk, as it was gone.
Tape didn't last long, as the clunk came back after serval 100 kms.

Since then, i have upgraded my shocks to EFS 30way adjustable shocks.
I did hit the lip again with a file, clunk hasn't come back yet.

I do have some seats that came with the Jeep, just haven't put them in yet.

Yep, they're the same seats I have coming in soon.

I wonder why the previous owner hadn't installed them on yours?

I'm keen to avoid the file if I can, but that might change once I'm shit out of luck!

Opposite Lock actually did the install, so no idea why they didn't use them.
Be great to know once you've installed them if it straightens them up.
