Iowa requires a front plate - they furnish you one. But I've driven my JT for a year without it.
Previously, I broke the plate bracket on my F250 (it was plastic) and always intended to fix it and put the plate back on but 4 years later I traded the truck and never did put the front plate back on.
They want you to have it - but what they REALLY care about is when they are chasing you they want to see that rear plate. Leave that off and you get to see pretty lights behind you.
I plan on putting the plate on mine someday - if I can figure out a cheap or free way to do it.
Do not want it hanging down - snow and such.

Liquor Attorney. So not all bad...
Used the plastic plate mount from the steel OEM bumper and mounted it on top of the bumper in front of the winch control box with a couple of L-brackets.

Thought about something like this. My winch sits nestled into the bumper. Something like this would fill the gap between the bumper and the hoop. My bumper looks like this from the front:

Small bungee cord (1/4") knotted each end. Slip it over the visor. Now you see it, now you don't!
And no extra holes in your bumper.

Now this is a different idea. Thanks!

I really like this one a lot. It holds the plate in front of the winch hook and by pulling a release, I can remove it in about five seconds.

Thanks - doesn't work with my Pro Link - see the pic in my original post. But thank you!

I'd suggest just sticking in the windshield, but the dang windshield is so dinky, you'll lose like 30% of your visibility...

And potentially illegal in MN.

In Australia we have to display front plates as well, and with the winch fairlead and Factor 55 hook there was no option to put a flip bracket to cover the hook. To solve it I got a fairlead flip bracket off eBay and flipped the plate mount upside down and mounted my plate (slimline, which is legal here) so it sits above the Factor 55 hook. Worked a treat! Clears the hook perfectly so I can use the winch without messing around and doesn’t interfere with my spotties either.

Thanks - would you give me info about your spotties?

I am using the Maximus 3 Stealth license plate bracket. It puts the plate at a slant and out of the way. it is a super sturdy bracket and mounts to a straight line of 3 of the existing torx screws between the steel bumper and sway bar motor skid plate. I have done rock crawling, badges of honor, and winching with it. It is always out of the way. It is not cheap, but, I highly recommend it if your bumper is correct for it.
