Fuel Cap Lock?

Just curious if anyone has found a sensible way to lock their fuel cap? I have an EcoDiesel so I am looking for a way to lock the entire door that opens to my Diesel and my DEF spout(?).

From what I understand you want a locking fuel door, you could install a cam lock in the fuel door. You will have to drill the fuel door and possibly cut a slot in fuel fill area. Not a big technical task but not for faint of heart drilling vehicle.

But even then, it's still just a plastic door...

Let them have the gas. Nothing you can do will prevent a thief with a crow bar from getting the fuel. The question is do you want to lose the fuel and add damage to the vehicle to the mix?

I went ahead and bought the Mopar one that can be keyed (by you following video directions online) and am super happy with it.
Having a diesel means you never really have to shut the motor down during a refill, so I'd buy a cheap extra key to operate.
Super high quality unit.

I just got the Mopar locking cap for diesels, $70+the ride...it has a kit to key it to your Gladiator key

Beat me to it, but yes, that looks like what I ordered...not at the shop currently so I cant verify the part no.# but that was the price I paid

I finally found the original link, apparently the gas and diesel caps are different, verified by Mopar folks....https://www.allmoparparts.com/sku/82215418.html. So the one discussed above is not the right part, this link I show was the one the factory guys gave me.

I got the Mopar locking gas cap for the wifes JL and it works great! Keyed it after watching the video.

Like I said that’s exactly the one I used (it’s in my order history) and it works perfectly on the diesel.

I ended up getting this as well. it works, but the dainty little key on my chunky Jeep key fob is going to lead to an future incident, most likely occurring in-30 Celsius
