Thought I would post up some info and pics of my leak I found. I noticed the fuel drops on the driveway. When I crawled underneath to have a quick look it must have been leaking for awhile and I didn’t notice. Thought it was come from the filter cap oring. Took it off and it looked ok.
So I decided to dig deeper.

Pulled the whole thing out and couldn’t see anything but I figured it was something to do with the electrical connector.

You can see the insulation on the wires is pooched. So diesel has been leaking through the connector. The more I looked at it it’s the bigger ground wire for the heater. It looks like it got hot for some reason and has actually made the housing brittle. I looked a little closer inside…..

Circled in red is where that pin comes through and the plastic is broken away and it’s very brittle! I poked it and shouldn’t have!!
Here’s the plug. You can see the brown on it. I looked at each pin and to me it looked like the ground pin was not crimping down very well on the male pin coming out of the housing. Which would explain why it got hot with the current going through it.

So after all that I had to get it running again. I jammed a pile of rtv in the plug, crimped the ground wire better and put it all back together temporarily till my new housing comes in.
New filter housing part number is…

Should be here in a few days.
Side note, the silicone didn’t really hold. It’s still sputtering out the plug but we have to have it running.
Just wanted to post up in case it happens to anyone else.

I got my new housing. Just need time to change it out. When parked overnight and I start it, it leaves a puddle on the driveway. So still leaking pretty good. I’ll probably change it tomorrow night after work.
Would love to change out the housing totally cause these filters are ridiculously expensive. I had an airdog system on my old 6.0 and it was awesome. As a side note the oil filters in Canada are 170 bucks each!! Crazy.
