Gaia Shadow Top (fastback style)

Will post back my thoughts and pics once it's received and installed when their next shipment of them come in (they are thinking Oct.). I'm sure it's a bit of a compromise when it comes to total volume inside, but I'm willing to trade some utility for looks and I think it looks amazing

Anyone else on here have any experience with this top? I've seen Gaia mentioned with their other topper to some positive reviews before.

Just as a warning, this is available on alibaba and it looks like a chinese sourced design. I went with a smartcap a little while after posting this and have been very happy with my choice.

how...how are you supposed to close it? Be the same height as the Joly Green Giant? My only gripe is the "4th" brake light. Seems redundant when we have our 3rd brake light on the tailgate anyway. Looks awesome besides that!

lol, that is a great question haha. My guess is I'll have to climb up on the tailgate to close it. Otherwise I dented my steel rear bumper already on a tree doing some trails (sucker snuck up on me ) and I'll make sure the replacement has a step built into it like my old GMC Sierra did.

I'll miss being able to grab things from the side over the bed rail, but that's impossible to do on many trucks today even if they don't have a cap on them.

I love the look. I would do it too if I didn't need that extra bed space. I've been thinking about their camper shell version. I wish it came in white.

At $4,199.00 that's getting into my Hemi conversion money.....cool idea though!!

Hemi conversions are like $30k+, plus I have the diesel so conversions are kind of out of the picture. 4k is about the cost of any topper these days, especially the stainless steel ones.

Looks great if your in new jersey I used urban jeep outfitters. They ordered it for me took delivery and installed it. It's about 500 pounds of solid steel

Looks great. Ordered mine from urban jeep outfitters in new jersey
They ordered it. Took delivery of it and installed it for me. About 250 pounds of solid Steel. I'm happy I got it. Owners Joe Lori and Ernie are great. They been outfitting my jeep slowly since 2022

Glad yours turned out great and it looks awesome! I ended up cancelling my order with Gaia after it was delayed yet again. They were great with refunding me the full amount.

I have an RSI smartcap in my garage built and about to be put on and will take some photos of it on the jeep.

Just a word of warning, the fastback style cap is also available on alibaba so I'm not sure how great the quality of all of them are. Gaia definitely is just an importer of it and not the manufacturer.

So far so good I haven't had any problems with gaia and there customer service has been great.

As you know alot of things come from China. I like to buy usa but if I like the look of something I buy it

i'll report back in a couple of months. See how it holds up. But right now I'm happy with look and quality of it

They should have attached the strap. Mine has one attached to both sides and hangs down.

Love mine with the Sarge Green. Makes Jeep Gladiator look like a Humvee. Is very light weight at about 250 pounds and love the height not taller than roof. Also the locks on side and back a bonus.
