Hey @Pat2Alaska why did you have to take the box under the back seats out in order to put the steps on the outside of the truck? Got me scratching my head here.
I was perplexed by this too - thought maybe he was cooking up something interesting back there...

You sir are outta control!! Your build is coming along nicely. I am def going to get the RSE steps. I have a lot to catch up now - Basically if I mix your build with @ralphjjr - I have my build LOL

I meant to ask you if you got the lights as well for the steps?
Yes, but won’t install until tomorrow!

Tell us more about those magnets? Have any more pictures of them installed? Also, how sharp is that footrail on the aft side of it? I imagine my kids opening the door too close and getting it to the leg.

I’m asking to get more magnets so I have spares and hopefully have some work with my tube doors. Back of the step is not extremely sharp but could likely provide some decent scars! I did figure out you need to stand away from the rails when you open the door!

Thanks for the pics! Those magnets don't look so bad but you're right about the tube doors. Didn't even think about that.

And yes that edge on the step looks to have a lot of injury potential for the kiddos.

Think I may just go with the jcr slider steps. My 5 year old just needs a bit of a step where the slide is. Well, until I put a lift on it :turkey:

Final thing before heading to the All4Fun Event in Colorado, installed a Cobra 75 WX XT CB and 5 ft Firestick antenna. I still have to tune the antenna tonight but here's how it looks on the stock front steel bumper in the dune flag hole. A little angled forward, wondering if that will affect performance. Not expecting much from a CB but would like to get a mile or so.

Have fun at All4Fun - looks like an awesome event.

How about maybe try to mount that antenna on the hood as opposed to the bumper?

We’ll see how the bumper goes.

@Pat2Alaska - Figured I'd ask here when I finally found this over the Midwest Pricing thread... I'm really liking that all RED look!

While offroading in the All-4-Fun trails, how often did you use your lockers? Rear vs front vs both? Also, do you have any perspective (previous Wrangler experience?) as to the difference a standard t-case ratio of 2.72:1 vs the Rock-Trac 4:1 ratio makes for crawling on the size tire you have (approx. 35s)? Reason I ask is I'm looking at the difference in cost of the Sport S equipped with Max Tow vs a Rubicon (and of course, the darn Rubicon lets me add lots more spendy options that I can't otherwise get with the Sport S :) and just can't help myself!).

Thanks for your input!
Rob

Rob,
I only used the lockers three times all week, but when I needed them, it was well worth it! The Rubicon Transfer case is much better than the ones I had on my TJ and JK (non-Rubicons). There is also the off-road cruise control on the JT Rubicon which I can't tell you how nice that is to use on the harder trails. It allows you to push the button, then go to the manual side and as you shift, it changes the MPH, 1st is .6, 2nd 1.2 etc and controls the braking and accelerator so all you do is concentrate on your line! It is not in the owner's manual but I figured it out the first day. The button is where you would normally see the downhill assist but instead of the little jeep being on an incline, it is flat.
