I have a 2012 Like New JKU Sahara, it’s my murse...I keep my bikes, inflatable SUP, golf clubs, gear, etc locked and loaded for nice wknd activities, and topless drives. I only have 15k on the odo, love it, was going to keep it forever, don’t need a new JL but just can’t resist the new features and upgrades. I was All set to pull the trigger on the JL and the Glad explodes onto the mkt...accolades to FCA for their attention to so many details. Now I really love the JT!! The JT has better utility and great interior features to add more options to my wknd outings. So, as noted I’m not an extreme off road guy, but do enjoy a wknd road trip to a remote destination for biking, hiking etc. How do you think the Overland will compare to the Sahara for onroad road trips? What about a daily driver?
The Overland has heavy duty underpinngs to manage trailer and payload but its suspension and longer wheelbase than the JLU could provide comparable ride and handling to the JLU. Also, Jeep execs have said the JT was designed to give a better onroad ride? Better than what? The JLU or ....? Do you think onroad manners will be comparable between the JL and JT, negligible difference or will the JT road manners and ride be inferior to the JL?

A lot of questions in your post for first thing on a Saturday morning...

But basically the longer wheel base of the JT will give a better road ride than the JLU which has better manners than the JL due to its shorter wheel base, all other things being equal.

With the available wider track on the JT and who knows what other improvements the engineers have made I would expect the ride and performance of the JT suspension to be even better!

JT will ride better, longer wheelbase, heavier, around town use it will be harder to park and maneuver, I have a Tundra crewman as a daily driver and it is only 10" longer than the JT, it can be a pain in tight parking lots.

Yes. What everyone here said but I will add that it will have a larger turning radius due to the 20 inch longer wheelbase.

Thanks for for your all your feedback, much appreciated, that is what I was hoping for. I also read that the JT will have a 6’ wider turn radius than JLU, but that’s still better than my JKU.

Per the specs on the Build & Price tool, here are the turning radius numbers for the JL/JLU/JT... Roughly 3' 8' wider turning circle than a JLU... not bad! But, I'm coming from a 2-door JK, 10' is a big deal for me. I'm used to blasting through switchbacks without messing with 3-point turns.

JL = 34.5'
JLU = 40.8'
JT = 44.5'

Maybe a little, but since the JT uses rear coil springs and not leaf springs like most other manufacturers use it still should be one of the best riding trucks.

I thought the JLU was much better than the JKU, but it looks like it’s only marginally better. I think I read the JKU is about 41’ which would mean the JT is much worse than the JKU. Thx!

Does anyone know when the press will get their hands on the JT for long lead reviews?

I asked @JAY and got crickets. I am think Jeep won't allow him to say as he typically responds quickly when he can.
