Perfect timing, just noticed mine already gave up life last night.

Thought these were LEDs and supposed to last forever. How many miles on yours when they died?

Dealership replaced mine under warranty at 18,000 miles when they did the steering box.

17,000 for me. The stealership told me it wasn’t covered under warranty. I think they quoted around $100 or so for the part.

That's a total lie, you should have gotten @JeepCares involved with it. I didn't have to because I use a pretty darn good dealership but something like that is definitely covered under warranty. My dealership didn't even think twice about it, I called them and told them it wasn't working on one side and they ordered a new one and replaced it at no cost.

Call another dealership and get @JeepCares involved.

Thanks for the video. I’m under 8,000 miles and mine quit working. I know it’s free under warranty but is it worth the hassle or just do it myself? IDK
I'd have the dealership do it. No hassle really, they ordered the light and install it. I had them do it while they did my oil change and steering box install. Unless you just want to waste $90 to $100 on a 3rd brake light and do it yourself. I'd rather put that money somewhere else.

Lmao at a $100 light.

When I bought my wife her MDX I quickly found out on the forums that the headlights were $1500 EACH. LOL

No idea when mine quit working. I'm at 18k miles now. Pulled the cover and checked the plug and all is good there. It is such a pita to go to the dealer, i'd rather spend the $$ on a new light. Sucks I also have to get a new light decal too.

Before I buy a new light, I pulled the panel and checked the plug. I think it’s the contact with the plug because I can make the light go off and on by moving the plug. I added some dielectric grease to the contacts and we’ll see if that helps. So far it’s working.
Same problem here. I ordered a light off of ebay. And same results.

So I ordered plugs off of aliexpress. Just arrived yesterday in the mail.

I'm going to pull the pins and put them in the new housing. If that doesn't work, I'll repin the wires.

I think there's an updated design to these plugs. Maybe because of contact issues. But I figured I'd try the direct replacement first.

Other thing is, I wondered if they pulled on the wires when doing line-x.

Wiggle your plug. If the light has gone south, I have one that works that I might be able to sell. I bought it to avoid going to the dealer as well. Hahaha. I paid $45.

New connector and pins, same shit.

So after wasting time with repinning the wires and a new connector, I went back to something I had tried before. Again, i inspected the wires and pins. I thought maybe they got pulled during linex. But they were fine as far as i could tell.

So i tried noalox before, but i only dabbed it to the pin holes.

This time, i dipped the pins into the opening of the tube and really got the noalox in there.

For the first time, i got consistent working center light. I'll see how long it lasts.
But the whole thing took less than five minutes with an electric screw driver with t30 torx bit. Depinning tool. A paper clip would work for these pins. And a small tube of noalox.

Good luck to the rest of you.

I took it back apart and wiggling the plug got it to work. Thank you. I put some dielectric grease on it and so far its working as normal.
