I'm with Clearcover and they didn't charge me much more for the 2021 Gladiator than the 2018 Wrangler, and they are both Rubicons with similar equipment levels....if anything the JT has a little more...auto transmission and leather seats.

I'm paying about $900 a year for the 21 JT, 18 JL, and a 2007 Corvette. That said, I've nad no major claims in 25 years and no tickets in just over 20 years. And I'm 55 years old.
Thanks for the data. I have a theory that the Gladiator may be more likely to be stolen in some areas (ABQ is the closest metro area to me, and it's #1 in auto theft in the U.S.).

We just switched our insurance, cost is as follows

1. 2023 Gladiator
2. 2014 Mustang
3. 2022 Wrangler

go figure. And I use Penzoil full synthetic in all my CJDR vehicles

We pay $86/mo full coverage for ‘23 JTR, $80/mo full coverage for the ‘24 JL 2-door Sport S through Geico in Middle Tennessee. Not sure if it makes a difference, but they are owned outright.

Lol, yeah I know that insurance in general is a dead horse being beaten here, but I just wanted to know if Gladiator insurance had been consistently higher versus Wrangler for anyone else. Do you also have or have had a Wrangler to compare your Gladiator rates against?
LOL, couldn’t help myself.

I do have a JK but I can’t compare obviously rates to a 8 year old vehicle to my new Mojave.

It's not the highest theft rate... everyone just makes a wrong turn.

My 2020 Glady is $200 a year less than my 2013 JKU Wrangler. Not sure why.

Or is it just me? Now that the Gladiator has been out for a while, I thought insurance premiums would have come down to Wrangler levels, but I haven't seen it. Both Progressive and Farmers have charged me much higher rates for the Gladiator over the Wrangler.

Most recent experience: I just traded my '23 Mojave ($62K sticker) for a '24 JLURX w/XR ($72K sticker), and my insurance dropped by over $350 every 6 months. I'm thinking the safety features on the '24 X might play a role here (mainly the frontal collision avoidance), but I've had similar increases/drops when going from Wrangler to Gladiator and back in the past, and my Wranglers involved didn't have the safety package(s) back then.

Is the Gladiator less safe? I wouldn't think so. Are us Gladiator drivers less safe? I wouldn't think so either. But the data must be saying something to the insurers.
In Wayne county in Michigan, I'm paying $110 a month with State Farm. I have a 2021 Gladiator sport. I was paying more with my Ford F-150.

In my area, Ontaria Canada, Wranglers are more expensive to insure than Gladiators. The reasoning up here is there are significantly more Wranglers on the road so statistically insurance companies are more likely to have more Wrangler claims.

I agree the Gladiator is more. My JT Rubicon is $393/yr while my wifes JKU Sahara is $392/yr. But my '49 Willys Jeepster is only $160/yr!!

We traded a 2016 GMC Canyon for the 2024 Mojave….…our rates went down and they sent us a check.
However…..

The Canyon was listed as a daily driver/primary vehicle. I work from home full time, so the agent listed the JT as a Pleasure Vehicle.

I don’t know how much $$ you save from being a “pleasure vehicle” VERSUS the overall worth of the vehicle (and/or daily driver coverage). To buy a new GMC Canyon (Denali Fully loaded) is LESS $$ than buying a JT new….

Who the heck knows…… I was just surprised we got a check!!

It does make a big difference when you don’t list it as a vehicle you commute to work in. My wife and I both work from home, so we get to list both that way.
