I see you work for Weyerhauser there in NC. My cousin retired from their facility in Grayling, MI area a few years ago. She was one of the Safety Managers at their facility there.
Awesome! Yeah I've been out here 18 years, would of been 20 but I quit for 2 years back in 2017 but they called me back in 2019 wanting me to come back and offered me to good a deal to pass up. It's a good place to work, just got to a point in my life where I wanted to explore other options.

Why aren’t diesel JT owners swapping in the 2024 grille which has improved airflow to see if they lower engine temps on long mountain passes? Besides the fact that they are ugly (the grille, not the owners).

Airflow resistance in the engine bay was mentioned as a difficulty, as in where does all the extra air get to come out. I’m assuming Jeep didn’t redesign the radiator and engine bay for 2024, so perhaps the new size and shape of the grille slots is designed to maximize the airflow within the same engine bay setup as pre-2024 models.

A few people tested the "cooler temp" claim with the new grille and found no appreciable difference.

Which should come as no surprise considering others have run them with no grille at all and haven't had much change.

The only time you'd see a difference is if you were operating at the top of the normal range anyway. If you run 220, and swap grills, likely you won't see much, if any at all, difference, because 220 isn't too hot.
Anyone running 195-200 won't see a difference - it's the operating range of the thermostat which is mostly closed at those temperatures so increased air flow would do nothing.
It's only likely to show any difference in preventing OVER-heating, temps outside of the range of the thermostat, which on these I believe doesn't fully open until about 218-220.

Exactly. I would want to hear from a JTD owner who tried the new grill in situations where they previously had trouble towing over high altitude mountain passes due to high engine temps.

Interesting stuff
The dealer did agree it was bad transmission
They changed fully with no charge
In 2017 I bought a new 300s with a hemi in Louisiana, it had 60 miles on it, drove it back to Biloxi, while driving back the Trans overheated under normal operating conditions. The next day, while running some errands the Trans burnt up with about 300ish miles on it. I immediately got a tow to the nearest dealer, the manager argued with me that there was no way it burned up in 300 miles. They did all there preliminary checks come to find out a transcooler line was pinched, they replaced everything from the Trans to the cooler. It was probably a Monday or Friday Car. After that, that car had zero issues, unfortunately, I lost it in a Noreaster flood. Sad day for sure.

You lose 50 points for claiming a Jeep can possibly get 70 mpg.
Yea that's a combination of bad autocorrect and being rushed. I don't live my life on these forums like *cough* others. It's been corrected.

I swapped grilles, but to attempt another cross country trip, especially with a couple month old baby, is not looking realistic in the near future lol.
