I totally agree. Some of the misjudgement comes from the marketing. Jeep could have done a better job marketing. I feel like they tried to focus too much on “it’s a truck” and all the “truck” people took it too far. And saying it’s not a Wrangler with a bed I believe hurts it marketing because I think a lot of people want that Wrangler experience with the versatility of a truck.

the gladiator is a great all arounder for sure.

This is my first Jeep, Bought my wife a JK Rubi in 17, but that is hers, I am just the mechanic, parts atacher co-driver and wallet. But the JT got my attention when Jeep first announced it. It is awesome. I will slowly continue to upgrade until it gets where I want it, but I can honestly say that this is a fun vehicle to drive, and I like how it makes me feel. I just smile real big and go down the road, or trail, or anywhere else i want to go. Short of being amphibious, I don't think you can get a more versatile vehicle, and on top of that, it is a convertible. I still think that is too cool. Looking forward to many good adventures in this vehicle and good times with the Jeep community here in NOLA.

I have sport s max tow with premium soft top, hard tonneau cover, bedliner, 8.4" radio, and aux switches. I love this truck. I added the overland side steps, stubby antenna, window tinting, grab handles, and sill guards. I use the bed like a trunk. I have taken 4 adult hockey players in it. All our gear and sticks fit in the bed with the hard tonneau cover. I've also taken 4 adults golfing with all clubs. Living in South Florida, the soft top is fantastic. I just flip it forward and back as it can rain at any time.

This vehicle is the most practical vehical I have ever owned. Other than the check engine light coming on once and the ess failing intermittently, I'm happy with it.

. . . here in NOLA.
My wife and I lived in Ruston the first three years of marriage. It was great to be able to drive south to Cajun territory, or go north into the Arkansas mountains. Really enjoyed living there.

it aint perfect (what is?) but it's perfect for me. i strive for versatility in anything and this jeep is it.

though, just bc we have gripes (justified or not) doesn't mean we hate the jeep overall. anything can be improved, i have learned so much from this forum and done so much to my Jeep so far (more to come) and I credit this place for it. nothing is a deal breaker, just hope you don't get a lemon.

there used to be a Commanders Palace on the strip in Vegas, I remember going there and having the shrimp Etouffe and then getting the giant plate of creme brûlée... we had a Cirque show, Mystere after, and I was so stuffed, I couldn’t stay awake to save my life, I remember giant Korean drums coming out of the ceiling of the theatre and waking me up, and then falling asleep while the giant drums banged. I miss that restaurant. May have to make a trip to NO for that.

Palace Cafe for the bananas Foster and Huck Finn's for their fried gator tail and boudin balls. Brother's Market for fried chicken.

I will have to say that I wasn't even interested in the Gladiator when it came out in 2019. I had a JKU and put up with the bumpy ride and lackluster 5 speed auto. I actually thought the JT was pretty ugly.

Then I was looking into mid size trucks and looked at the competition like Tacoma, Colorado, and Ranger. The prices i got quoted were all close or even higher than the JT so one day I just went to a Jeep dealer to try one and thought it was really great. A few back and forth and next thing you know, I got one.

It really does everything I want and like the OP said, it'll haul, tow, cruise, and do it all topless which no truck can do other than the SSR which is not a crew cab.

The Jeep engineers really hit it out of the park with the Gladiator. We live on a small hobby farm and have used ours to haul feed, straw, hay, take a goat to the vet loaded in a large crate in the bed, loaded the guard dog in the bed, hauled the horse trailer, hauled the utility trailer, numerous trips to the hardware store, etc. Did I mention that it’s also my daily driver and I that it seats 5? Oh, it’s also 4 wheel drive- can probably go where most trucks can’t and I can remove the top!

I can’t see myself owning another kind of truck, maybe just another Gladiator ?
