I think the main question is, can you afford it comfortably? If the answer is yes, then you should ask yourself if you would like it more than the Mojave. I can safely say that the only way I would trade my Mojave is if they offered it in a 5.7 Hemi. I don't need the 392, much less the 6.2 Hellcat engine. You can only go so fast, legally hahaha The Pentastar satisfies what I need but the extra push on the 5.7 Hemi would be better. Anything more is overkill to me. While Ram is bigger, i can see where the supercharged Hemi makes sense, but i can make more use off my midsize than a full size truck. Of course, that's just me. If you're trying to convince yourself, then chances are, you are convinced already. Give you meet the requirements, go for it! You gotta enjoy yourself while you can.

I am in this camp as well. I put 165,000 miles on a 5.7 PowerWagon and always felt it was under powered. Ordered a 392 Charger a couple years ago. When it arrived I took it for a test drive and determined right there it was overblown for my tastes. I do not need to burn rubber. I DO NEED TO Fling Snow and Mud on the other hand. I think a 5.7 in the JTR would be ideal.

Today's trucks have no heart or soul IMO. Minvan windshields that slope more every year and with that, the grill gets taller and more ridiculous than the previous model.

+1 please. If they drop the 392 in the Gladiator, I'm going to have to have a sit down with the "finance committee" to discuss an upgrade.
My finance committee has already been advised that a 392 Gladiator Mojave will be purchased if Jeep decides to make it.

I will say again that fast cars are more fun than fast trucks if you aren't going offroad, to me anyways.

Ive had my Mojave for 19 months now and I am absolutely in love with it. It is my favorite vehicle I have ever owned by far. But I find myself constantly looking at the TRX. I have wanted a SRT powered vehicle for years, but I have to have a truck for work.

Ive found a few deals on ordering a 2022 for under invoice pricing. I bought the Mojave at a very good price and I have had a carvana and vroom offers for about $5000 more than I paid for the Gladiator. I've driven it 22,000 miles.

I do work in the city and have to get into some tight spots from time to time, the Gladiator is great at that. I imagine the TRX is going to suck trying to park vs the Gladiator. The fuel mileage and premium fuel is going to be a hit for sure. More cabin space inside the TRX will be nice with 2 young kids.

Any other pros and cons?
You’ll not want to drive your JT much afterward. Ask me how I know…

My finance committee drives an ATS-V coupe, so hopefully that will play to my advantage.

It’s awesome. It’s not a JT, and I don’t use it as such off road, but for everything else it’s great.

Having owned a Hellcat Challenger, loved It, I can say the TRX actually uses all 702 ponies by keeping them charging in the same direction vs half of them slipping on the asphalt. Launches fast, passes effortlessly, climbs mountain ranges like it’s going downhill. The interior is the nicest I’ve ever owned or driven in. Comfortable is an understatement and it is limo quiet. I’ve added a rear sway bar so it handles good for its size and weight adding confidence in the twisties.

Having both a JTR and TRX does make me appreciate my JTR more. The JTR’s midsize and capabilities are unmatched. If they’d release a 392 option I’d be hard pressed not to jump on that too. Although, I don’t mind the 3.6L. Driving a Jeep JTR on 37s puts me in a much more mellow state of mind vs having to fend off every ricer or 5.0 or ecoboost that wants to get spanked light to light.

We were out driving yesterday and we saw a TRX and the wife said she really likes the way they look, which is kind of wife speak for I wouldn't be mad at you. So now I'm like .... hmmmm ...

I had a Raptor and she hated it.

When football season rolled around after my wife and I got married, we were sitting there watching her favorite team (Greenbay Packers ) on our 36-inch TV. She looks at me and says "We really need a big screen TV." While choking back tears of joy and pride, all I could say is "Yes.........yes we do. The store closes at 6. If we leave now, we can just make it." We may be a house divided when the Cowboys and Packers play, but she's seriously cool about my toys (cars, tools, guns, etc.).
