ignition circuit... behind back seat... why do new cars have to suck so much?
That's the RF hub............ not ignition. But they all have to work together.

RFH is part of the ignition circuit because of the remote start function and the RFID antenna ring on the push button ignition switch so it can detect the FOB.

Security, tied to ignition, but technically security?

Just heard from him and that's it. I'll post the official diagnosis when he sends it to me, but it was shorting out. There was no sign of water intrusion. It was just a faulty module. They are replacing it and the bill is $450, which I don't think is terrible considering all the diagnosis work and taking out the rear seat and all.

I think @Hootbro called it, or at least was within an inch of the target.

I appreciate all of you and the help you provide. What a great resource this community is!

I can believe it is, without believing that ignition wires behind the back seat is good design.

I'm curious where this thing is on my JL Wrangler? I've flooded that thing in monsoons several times. Maybe its not in such a vulnerable place.

That said, they did rule out water intrusion in the failure in my buddy's case, which is good.

One of a kind problem my big harry ass (don't try to get a visual). My Gladiator is in the shop for the same thing. It started with not being able to use the Jeep app. Then I did a key fob remote start and the Jeep wouldn't accept pushing the start button. I waited the 10 minutes for it to automatically shut down and then it said that no key fob was detected. I tried the key fob dead battery fix and pushed the start button in with the key fob and it started. Jeep Cares had a case going on the app issue and had finally said that I needed to take it to a dealership:

From Jeep Cares:
I have received an update from technical support, They stated if I could ask you to go to the dealer and open a STAR case for the logs collections and VSR from the vehicle. So I do believe that your case was picked up by the dealer.

Thank you for being a part of our Jeep family, I hope you have a beautiful day and please stay safe!
Their first suggestion, which even the Jeep Cares rep thought was goofy, was for me to "drive it around." I guess waiting for some update.

Off to shave my ass...
