Help me out with those bolt patterns. There's a 6-bolt circle but the jeep isn't a six lugger. There's an 8-bolt circle inside it but the jeep isn't an eight lugger, nor is it a 4 lugger if you use every other hole.

How do these mount to the 5-bolt pattern on the Jeep?
The center Black plate comes off. The bolt hole pattern is behind it.

Here is a picture of a black Armory wheel with the center plate removed:

If this set was the same price as the Desert Tan, they'd be on my JT tomorrow. Although, more than the Black Rhino Armory, I really like the Black Rhino Abrams.

Just picked up my new Gobi from Kent in Idaho, and couldn't drive home yesterday without a visit to the Snake River.

Now to start installing all those Black Friday purchases that have already started showing up!

A couple notes from my 700 mile completely non-interstate drive home:

  • There is ZERO steering wiggle, if I turn the wheel a hair the wheels immediately turn with me. Steering response is WAY better than I was expecting.
  • I drove straight from the dealership to Advanced Auto Parts, bought two cans of Fluid Film, and coated the bottom before the exhaust got hot and before the long drive home through the mud and snow. Best time to rust-deter the underside has to be when it's straight off the showroom floor
  • Gobi is a perfect color to just blend in. Now, I'm not saying I would EVER trespass, per se, but having a vehicle that vanishes into the wilderness background is exactly what I was going for. I love it. If I had the color match fenders and top this vehicle would be completely invisible from 100 yards away (probably not true in a forest, but that's not the landscape I live in anymore!)
  • A freedom panel takes less than 30 seconds to take off or put on. I think I'll be using those way more than I thought, especially given how small the windshield is. Driving along the base of those basalt cliffs was so much cooler once I could see the cliffs above me
  • I haven't done a chalk test yet, so PSI is probably off, but I got about 16.5 mpg on the drive home on 35" tires with no lift. Now, that was with cruise control generally set at around 78mph, so it will probably do better at slightly slower speeds
  • I DID have to hit that upper mid-90's mph limit at one point while passing an eighteen wheeler, and it would be nice to not have that built-in limit for those two lane roads where the speed limit is 75, the truck in front of you is going 70, and you only have so much room to pass them. Oh well.
  • For tall people the headrests suck. And turning them around is worse. I wish someone would come out with a straight version instead of ones that try to bend my chin to my chest
  • Wow, do I ever need to fix the glare from the license plate lights on the backup camera at night. No wonder people are putting tape on them!
  • Kent assures me that it will get easier, but it took all my strength and multiple attempts to get that damned shifter into 4LO
SOOO many modifications to come, but I love this beast so far

The part with the 8 lugs is like a hub cap.

First pics before getting it dirty on the trip home. Just picked up Saturday morning. Kent at Peterson's had everything ready, just a great experience working with Kent, Derrick, Ryan and the rest.

Got the Bumper on finally. Had to do some dealing to get it since it seems to be on back order with Rugged Ridge and isn't expected until January at least.
The bumper is the Arcus, winch is a Warn 9.5ti.
The winch required some massaging to fit. It is pushing slightly on the grille and I had to trim a fin on the motor end cover. But I got it in there. I had the same winch on my last Jeep and found one a guy had on a project truck that never got going. It has a crazy fast line speed which I like.
I found the bumper pretty easy to install and did it by myself. The only exception to that would be the overrider was is a bit of a pain because there is little way to reach the fasteners. Overall I am happy with the fit and finish. It is one of the more finished looking bumpers on the market in my opinion. I didn't really want a stubby but since it extends a little past the edges of the grille it doesn't have the same look as most stubby bumpers have.

Bought one yesterday . Max tow.
Removed side steps that just dirty my pant legs. Placed Rubicon rails I bought a few weeks back.
Removed rear headrests so I can see out the back.
Came with hardtop too. I want a soft top. I'll be taking pictures of the rails and hardtop to place for sale.
Love the color. Was going Sting-Gray until I saw this one.
Love the Gobi on the bed ( no liner yet) . Maybe I'll have to find a non black bed liner.

He had said in an earlier post he was getting 35s + Mopar 2" and a few other things. Looks amazing. The extra height really seems necessary to balance the length of the JT, looks much more proportional. Dagger my wallet.

Did the dealer give you any kind of exchange on the stock parts? Or you just need to liquidate them yourself?

Yes they are the Ntto 35s Ridge Grapplers with the Mopar 2" lift. Derrick gave me $500 for the stock tires/wheels, so they made out OK and I didn't have to try to sell them. Figured it was a fair trade. Yes a bit pricy but after seeing all the builds it looks so much better. Yes check book is significantly hurting right now.

This looks so good!! When you get a chance I'd love to see a pic of the side profile (not angled), from farther back - the camera distortion will be minimized that way and we can get a better sense of the proportions with lift and 35s.
