it's not the best offroader on the market

the gas mileage sucks
the manual transmission is trash
Meanwhile, i'm too busy over here smiling to care.

The best convertible is not a truck or SUV. There can only be one best, so that means hundreds of convertibles aren't the best.

The best pickup on the market depends on what you need a pickup for. There can only be one best, which means almost all other pickups can be called not the best pickup on the market.

It's based on the best offroader on the market - how many others can say that.

Wheelbase is too long for what?

If the bed is too short, buy a long box truck. It's not much shorter than the new standard box. Or get a bed extender or a rack to fit the receiver for hauling really long stuff. (**see below)

Gas mileage is better than my Chevy and blows my Ford's MPG away - the mpg towing beats any trucks I've ever had.

So buy an automatic. problem solved. Shift it manually if you wish. There's no need for a manual other than personal preference, no other reason. No advantage other than how it makes you feel.

You can haul really long sh## in the Gladiator if you want ->

I mention to my Tacoma buddies that when I traded my 2021 TRD Pro for this Rubicon, I never looked back. They all freak out. They don't understand!

I have owned Toyota 4 wheel drives since my 79 FJ40. I loved them all, but as they evolved, they started to get too "integrated". My last true Toyota offroader was my 08 FJ Cruiser Trail Teams. It was great in the open desert but I never got into the rock crawling scene with that like I did with my FJ40. I drove that all over the Philippines and even on the Rubicon once when I returned from living in the Philippines. I had to let it go in 1986 because it wouldn't pass smog in California.

When I traded the Taco TRD Pro, I had only had it for 6 months. I just didn't feel like it was what I wanted anymore. And I really don't like the electronic selection for 4 wheel drive. I had it on the FJ Cruiser and 2 4Runners (2016 FSR-5 and 2018 Limited). I love the mechanical linkeage of the Jeeps transfer cases. I currently own 2 Jeeps. The wife's 22 Wrangler Sahara, and my 21 Gladiator Rubicon. The only thing I added to this Rubicon was some ditch lights, HAM/GMRS radio, and a winch. It doesn't NEED anything else! So, I love my Gladiator!

By the way, the Rubicon is rated for 7K pounds and I tow a 16 foot trailer (also a Rubicon, by Coleman/Dutchmen) that is rated at max weight of 5.1 K pounds. It's only 20 feet long, but it is good enough for the wife and I.

Thanks. I’m curious what the trailer in the photos weighs because it looks a lot bigger than the 3500 pound trailers ive been shopping.
My camper is 4500 dry and 5100 when loaded with food and clothes. We only travel with empty tanks.
