Hello dear jeepers, here comes a hate speech.
I hate the fact that Stellantis company collects all the data about me, ie how, where and when I use my Jeep. The most hateful part is that there is no way to opt out of it.
I personally do not find any "connected" features useful: navigation system is no better than google maps, SOS call assistance have no guarantee to work where there no cell phone coverage and so on.
I also do not remember signing any agreement on my data collection and processing.
Question: has anybody found a way to get off the grid?

There is like 5 antenna connections you would need to pull and put a dummy load resistor plug for each on the radio to avoid error messages.

Antenna SDARS (C6)
Antenna LTE2/4G (C9)
Antenna Satellite (C4)
Antenna Satellite 2 (C8)
Antenna LTE (C7)

Oh but wait it gets worse, for all those thinking your phone is bad, your car is creeping on you way worse. The Mozilla Foundation (Firefox, privacy focused research NPO) concluded a recent study of auto brands terms of service, tracking, and privacy, that cars are the worse product for horrible privacy they've ever researched. Jeep wasn't the worse (6th from the "best") but all 25 they reviewed were horrible:

It’s Official: Cars Are the Worst Product Category We Have Ever Reviewed for Privacy
TLDR:
1. They collect too much personal data (all of them)
2. Most (84%) share or sell your data
3. Most (92%) give drivers little to no control over their personal data
4. We couldn’t confirm whether any of them meet our Minimum Security Standards

buddy, i promise you that you are not that interesting. it doesn't matter.

they just want to tell you a toaster more efficiently and know shit about traffic.

I leave all the tracking shit on because i always need an alibis, amazon suggestions, and someone in the CIA needs a job.

go about your life, take off the tinfoil hat, it doesn't matter.

I promise you, buddy, you'll change your mind as soon as your ID will be used somewhere intentionally or by mistake. Been there.
So go on with your happy ignorance.

And don't get me started on data being a commodity these days.

All jokes aside I get that it’s annoying that you can’t just buy a thing anymore, have it actually be yours and not have it involve continuous attempts to sell you more stuff. I just got birthday well wishes from the City of Manchester, UK. WTF? It was because my son had an EA game that I signed into so he could get whatever I game perks. They sold that info to Manchester so they can sell me tickets to games on the other side of an ocean. The shit is not only creepy and annoying, targeted ads are frequently totally off the mark.

I got really pissed that for about 2 months I had to acknowledge and close out of an ad for SiriusXM before I could use my Uconnect, along with the unsolicited emails, phone calls, mailings and texts. At least I don’t have to pay Stellantis rent to use CarPlay like BMW.

From a personal security privacy standpoint I would first take a look at their Terms of Use. What do they collect, how long to they keep it, what do they do with it? You can also request your data, mostly thanks to the EU. Our representatives mostly don’t care.

Also keep in mind your ISP and cell phone company collect much more relevant data. And you have to explicitly opt out, usually at least yearly. If you’re not utilizing Apples privacy options like Do Not Track, then you’re doing it wrong. If you’re using Google as a search engine, especially outside of an incognito window, besides the fact that it’s useless now, you’re doing it wrong. They install a tracking cookie that works even when logged out of Google. Delete your web data and use private relay or a VPN. I avoid using Google products as much as I can but still have a gmail account for spam and retailer (give us your emails for a discount) stuff.

The big thing is social media. If you have any kind of account with Meta, all this other stuff about your Jeep is pointless. Remember Meta doesn’t sell personal data. They sell the promise to affect real world behavior through hyper-detailed profiles and targeted algorithms. That’s a lot worse than spam imho.

I believe you're worried about nothing significant. Stellantis collects Telematics data to improve their products. They sell generalized data to insurance and some other companies. The head unit sends your location and truck health data to the SiriusXM servers. It listens for remote start commands and OTA updates. It is highly unlikely that you are important enough for someone at Stellantis to identify you, retrieve your VIN number, and then go digging through the SiriusXM Guardian data to find your last reported location. Most people do not spend 24 hours a day with their vehicle, unlike their phone which collects way more data that is provided to Google, Apple, and the cellular carrier.

I turn on and agree to all data collection, and run AdNauseam on all browsers. They will take your data no matter what, even if you opt out and decline everything, might as well make them wade through all the weird shit to get to the stuff they want ?

I use an Ad Blocker to cut down on the crap that shows up on some web pages. For most sites, I just accept the cookies so it works like it's supposed to. I don't search and browse random sites across the net, and don't click email links unless it is something I'm expecting. They can collect whatever data my browsing reveals. I'm not that special, and have nothing I'm trying to hide.
