I have a 2021 Jeep Gladiator Sport, stock tire is 245/75 R 17. Will a 285/70 R 17 fit and not interfere with the under carriage of the vehicle.

Yes. That’s only going up to the stock rubicon size. It’s not a very large tire.

John, Thanks for the quick reply. Today I visited the local Cruisin'Gold Wheel and Tire shop and they wanted to sell me a wheel that was HUGE. I just wanted to go up to the next size and get a little bit more rubber on the road. Wanted to insure when I hit a speed bump are turned the steering wheel al the way right or left that the tires might hit the under carriage. I am not a hardcore off the road driver.

You’ll be fine. It’ll just look a lot better. Do you like your wheels? A common upgrade is rubicon take off wheels from a new one where someone upgraded. You can find some great deals.

I did exactly the same about 5000 miles ago - I went with Mickey Thompson Baja Boss tires. It's a little louder and the gas mileage went down a couple of MPG but it looks much better and the little bit of off-roading I've done (nothing more than some dirt roads and little mud) has been a big upgrade.

Get yourself some Rubicon takeoff wheels and tires. Use them as a temp cause you gonna want 35s or 37s in a year.

So true.

I went from 245/70r17 to 33/10.5r17 on stock rims and no lift originally.
Next tires and rims are Rubicon takeoff's setting on a pallet in my yard. A price I couldn't refuse.
