So tonight's fun was bushings. Upshot is, the throw on the column shifter is Looonnng. So internet says it is bushings and shows cool pictures reminding me of how the sleeve on a column shifter surrounds the steering column, has feet sticking out at the under side end that attach to the transmission by way of connector rods. Okay, so each juncture is made possible by your local bushings. I get under there to check. Wow! Original bushings all over the place, gotta get new. Even if some were replaced twenty years ago, that's still not modern.

So, who does? Me? Trusted mechanic? Actual jeep resto mechanic that doesn't email back? ...

Amazing find. You gotta know that right side drive is interesting. Okay so questions. Paint looking good? Was it garaged? Love those fat tires. Comfy ride? How new is the interior? Engine? C'mon. Details mate!! Happy for you. Your new one looks like a great Jeep!

ok it was kept covered not a garage but next best thing just had an open front,paint looks better than it is but it will be fine for a while ive got to try & work out what colour it is so ill be doing some research there its original colour was fawn beige, yep the 33's look fat thats for sure i think they will have to come off to get it rego'd but theyll be straight back on again yes it rides really well a bit over geared with the 33's & a 3spd but its more beach cruiser than rock crawler so its not a real problem, the interior is really tidy even has carpet im kind of thinking that its a bit flash for a cj6 ive been thinking the front buckets might be from a later cj7 but i have no idea i just know that they are nothing like the original seats in the cj5 im working on & the engine well what can i say amc 258 runs sweet no smoke & ya just know itll be gallons per mile not mpg
looks like ill have a few spring bushes to replace
& i did my first mod i put a bottle opener on the key ring

no ive been doing some repairs so i can get it rego'd it had a few rust holes in the floors so ive been fixing that over the weekend
