I got hit by a guy that ran a red light yesterday. The crazy thing is that there was basically little-to-no body damage. I think the fender needs replaced. I am much more worried about the fact it smashed the front tire backwards so I could not move it. The mighty Toyota Tacoma did not fare so well. Do you think the frame is bent or just the control arms? I couldn't tell if the front axle was broken or not.

I can't recommend you all get a dashcam enough. I had three Garmin Mini 2 running and they saved my butt! The videa shows my light was green the entire time. They guy even tried to leave the scene, but his truck would not go very fary.

Glad you are OK

I would be looking for frame and axle damage, but the body shop will know what to look for.

I did not stay at a Holiday inn Express; but even if I did, the body shop would know better than us from pictures.

Yeah, based on that image, I’m betting it could be totaled, as the impact appears to have likely bent the frame / control arm mounts.

glad you were ok…. I might invest in a dash cam now….

The other driver looks like he is giving you that uninsured stink eye.

Glad you're ok - I'd be looking for a new truck, and get your stuff off the old one....

Front axle is toast, it broke at the disconnect. Control arms are shot. I am not sure about the frame, I didn't see any obvious damage, but I don't know what I am looking at. I hope it is not totalled. I love my truck.

I doubt I can find another EcoDiesel. It would have to be new, otherwise I would probably be buying someone else's problem truck.

Glad that you are OK. Hoping that just the axle and control arms took the impact.

It looks like most of the damage is limited to the right front but all that energy went someplace in your frame. Its going to be hard to make an estimate of the real damage to your truck from here. With that said, it's most likely that your truck will never be the same or drive the same, sorry.

I would be looking at removing the radiator cap from this truck and driving a new one under it.

Glad that you are okay and I hope that this gets fixed and you are happy with that fix.

I hope they can fix it for you. My old F100 took a hit like that and it actually drove better after rebuilding. (Of course, all the new parts and front end alignment was what done that -- but hey, you gotta love traditional build trucks).

In the meantime, could you please send the photos to Scotty Kilmer of YouTube fame? Say something like, "man, look at the plastic JUNK Toyota is building these days. My Jeep just needs some parts".
