Supressors are so nice. We like being able to shoot on the property thats available to use without disturbing other folks as much.

Also makes dispatching problem critters a bit nicer.

I have the .30 cal suppressor and a .22 cal one as well.
I wish I had ‘land’ to utilize ….. and probably impossible to find anything around here for our retirement home. 😞 Everything gets bought-up or passed down.

Are you familiar with how the trusts work? I’ll send ya a PM. 😊

I really need to get a suppressor. Problem is since most of my firearms were purchased/built while living in states FAR less gun friendly than NH, nothing I own has a threaded barrel. And when it comes to my favorite plinking pistols, it's probably cheaper and easier to just buy a new gun than make it suppressor-ready.
And my fave AR is my National Match build, I'm not messing with that barrel!

We only have one acre, though the land we go shoot on is a friends family land. About 15 acres. We have 235 yard or so we can use with careful planning.

I feel that.

Now that I have started buying cans, I won't buy a rifle without a threaded barrel.

Not so much worried about the pistols for my uses. I am more of a rifle guy anyway.

I have about 7 acres, in a very rural area. Rural enough that where I plan to eventually build my home range, if a round were to somehow escape my backstop it would have to travel almost 4.5 miles and over 3 mountains to reach the next house. Not that it should ever happen.

Where I grew up in central Florida, we had places to shoot everywhere. The police would patrol the area for illegal dumping and never gave us any trouble for target shooting. There's a large shopping mall in that location now. So sad.

Moved my Arken w/ exposed turrets over to my AR and the free Sig Bushmaster over to the 300 Black bolt gun.

I figured that made more sense than the previous arrangement.

I am going to do aome custom painting on that ugly tan stock at some point. Have some fun and use some leaves and sticks from the yard and do a multi color 'camo'. I did it once on a Nerf gun and it came out decent.

I think i ultimately want an LPVO on the bolt gun. Move that Sig scope to another rifle I have that has a partially broken optic.

Idk we'll see 😂

As most of you know, my son and I do WW1, WW2, and Korean war re-enactments with our Springfield 1903's, M1 Garand's, and our OOW M1918 BAR. Our group also does Vietnam events, so I picked up a H&R M16A1 replica today to go along with our Stevens 77E Vietnam era shotgun to be able to participate in those events as well.
Should be a fun gun to shoot as well at the range. 20" pencil barrel and correct 1:12 twist rate.

If you haven’t done the paint job yet, those cheap hammocks from Walmart or wherever do a good job for break-up.the green ones that barely hold a kid. Barring that, pine needles make really good media for doing break up. Bunch them together like a loose paint brush and just “dust” the color.

Good ideas.

I did a Nerf gun a few years ago - I broke a few small branches off some trees in the back yard and used the leaves as 'masking'. I did a base coat in one color then painted over the leaves in one or two other colors. Was fun to do.

IDK if I'm even going to mess with the .300 AAC bolt gun now. It's actually stripped back to stock form. I took out my new .300 AR pistol over the weekend and ran rounds through it and LOVE it, so now I can't really see a definite use case for the .300 bolt (for me). The AR is quiet enough, light enough, accurate enough for the round, and if I ever get into actual hunting I have a 30/30 that's a good enough deer gun (and better than 300) for my neighborhood. I filed to SBR the 300, as well.

I moved some other things around...

The big doofy scope on the AR above is actually on my Browning T-Bolt 22LR now. It's a heavy wood stock bull barrel gun and we like to long range plink 22 sometimes, so I figured that Arken and a Magpul bipod would be nice on it for now.

The big AR lost all its accessories and now has fixed A2 irons on it from the parts pile. My buddy had a stripped down POF with irons only and it was a ton of fun, so mine is naked now as well.

Nice! Harris is my go to for bipods. Every time.
Both mine are Magpuls but I have had a Harris in the past I believe.

I need to pick up a tripod as well. My buddy had a BOG Deathgrip and that thing was so dang handy. We don't have a shooting bench out on that land so it's either free hand, prone on a bipod or bags, or using a shooting stick / tripod.

I have used a chair like this one
Sniper Seat
with success.

Provides a comfortable place to sit
and enjoy the outdoors
while you are waiting
as well as support for the rifle.

I use the armrest fully extended
and the rifle support bottomed out.
A bit of hydraulic hose
on the supporting V
protects the rifle.

Here some muskrats met their demise.

In Texas,
you can shoot muskrats
on your own property
if they are causing damage.

If it was just me
I would give them names
and feed them.
But they were burrowing
into the earthen dam
that holds this stock tank.

Sometimes in ranching
you have to be hard hearted.

Whole lot of scope on a lil rifle 😂

Excited to play with this now that the big glass is on it and borrowed the bipod from the 300.

Pulled off the enormous cantilever mount and scope, the heavy bipod, etc. Going to play with this in a basic form a while. I was surprised at how quick and easy target acquisition was on my friends AR with irons. Maybe I need another collapsible stock to run on this. IDK, the PRS Lite does feel nice and helps balance the weight.
