I have the 2020 Gladiator and it behooves me to say that I was oblivious about the problems with the internal handsfree mic - there are two located up above by the rear view mirror. It wasn't until I asked my wife (mic check) that she mentioned, “oh ya it sounds like you’re riding in the wind.“ Seriously, all this time! I’m quite embarrassed that it went on for this long and I didn’t have a sole complaint until I asked.
So, with that said, I researched past forums and lo and behold there’s a big problem with all the mics, go figure!
Anywho, I found a fix - I performed a test and it’s definitely 90% better. I replaced the mics. The tedious part of this - removing the upper panel around the rear view mirror and around the visors, then snapping the panel back into place. It’s all one piece (approx 12mins to remove - about 15mins to set I back in place).
I bought noise canceling mics (Jeep wrangler)(2016-2018) eBay $12.50, Mopar has one for $14.22 identical except Mopar (2018-2024) - the one from eBay worked fine.
I improved the handsfree and it’s simple, if you are interested in the fix. I can provide some pics, step by step overall will take approximately 1.5hrs - of course you’ll need the right tools and materials to accomplish. I‘ll post later today if not tomorrow for sure. Side note: left side mic is a little more difficult placement wise because the mic is slightly bigger and that one sits right underneath the SOS control. So that will take a little maneuvering to get in place. The right mic is fairly easy - no obstruction
