Got my wall mount all set up. I like how much space it doesn’t take up and that I didn’t have to fool with winch lines and cables and shit. I don’t like how the bottom is pushed forward and the section on the 2x4 isn’t resting flat. I may end up running a strap across the bottom to keep it against the wall. Does yours sit like this @Bobh62000 or is yours flush against the wall?

I am new to the whole jeep stuff, but all of this stuff just makes me scared to try. I just know I will damage my top or mark it up like crazy trying all of these solutions. Seems like so much work!

Fear is the mind killer.

If your top is basic black, a can of flat black paint can correct any scuffs. If you are super nervous mopar sells hardtop paint in a rattle can for touch ups. As for scuffing the truck, it happens but having a helping set of hands can limit the booboos.

Do not fear the peeled jeep, it is your birth right, it is the reason Ford spent millions to bring the new Bronco to market. Embrace the peel, drop that glass and enjoy creeping through nature enjoying the sights, sounds and smells.

Anyway, I saw someone mentioned a scaffold method, and that looks awesome and easy. I actually have one already here at my house. Ill prob go that route.

mine sets flush but your brackets look longer and I used a 2x6 to hold it in place. I only have 9 1/2 inches on the lower arm.

I think this is the best idea for my garage. Can we get dimensions? Maybe a pic at another angle?
Stock 2020 Gladiator Overland (18” wheels, stock tires 255/60R18)

48” deep (4”x4” front to 4”x4 rear)

Opening is “86” wide

55” from flier to cross bars

4 ea 4x4 @ 61” (corner posts)

4 ea 2x4 = 48” (L & R front to back supports top and bottom) top is inside front to back bottom is outside for tire clearance,

2 ea 2x4 @ 92.5” (top front and back L/R cross

1 ea 2”x4” @ 94.5” (bottom L/R cross)

1”x3” top slide rail supports

2 ea 1”x6” slide rails for top - 8.5” in toward center from left and right vertical post

2” and 3” construction screws

I used the scrap pieces of 4x4 from the post cu to create parking stops for my front wheels. Used a driveway marker mounted in a scrap piece of 3/4” plywood stand to line up with rear camera when backing in. The pool noodle pads the back window against bumps when backing in.

My Jeep hard top rubber corner guards for the top sit freely on furniture slides that slide on the 1”x6” “track”. Used scrap 1”x2” to create the guide rails and bump stops.
Top removal::
Back under the frame, fold down back seat, remove front tops and bolts, sit on folded back seat and lift top on to “slides” then slide it back and rest front tabs on Orange padding. The Orange padding is a cut up garden kneel pad for the front tabs of the hard top to rest on (rests in the 1”x3” cross pieces).

You guys have some great ideas for storing the hard top. I'm just wondering, is there any relatively easy way to remove the top by yourself? I took it off yesterday and it was a bit cumbersome. I asked my wife to help me re-install it, but that did not go so well. My friend has a pulley system from his old 2dr. Wrangler he is willing to give me so I may just try that.

Do most people switch to a soft top in the summer for when it rains or should I just plan ahead with the weather and find a week or two without rain so I can leave the top off for a while?

The rack that DBravo made works really well for one person if you have the room in the garage. I had to put mine on wheels to move around. I found some six inch casters and reduced the corner posts by seven inches (after seeing the extra space for mounting). I wrap bungies around the front brackets to keep the top from bouncing when I move the rack. I've also put some heavy duty hooks on the sides to hang the doors.

I don't have the ceiling room nor do I trust myself with the pulley lifts.

It takes me about 30 min to remove or put everything back on without assistance. South Texas heat keeps me from buying the soft top.
