Does anyone know if it’s ok to lay the hardtop on the glass part on the floor? Obviously using a blanket under it

I don't see why not if that is how you have to store it. Unlike the other Jeeps, the rear isn't slanted or have a hatchback type window. I'd really pad it well. Maybe pool noodles.

I have been rolling it around my house with the Quadratec dolly. It is expensive, but, I like it, it is well engineered. I cannot fit it into my garage, just too packed with cars and tools. Since, this pic was taken, I found a corner in one of my rooms to stash it for the next 6 months.

Wow that's a baller move. I have small children with no regard for anything so that wouldn't work for me. How did that discussion go with any statistically significant others?

No worries, it was love at first sight for her -- it is a stick shift, she drives it, and she wanted the hard top off, and the soft top on -- much more fun during Covid-19. I can put the hardtop anywhere it fits. lol.

I already have the OEM hardtop and door cart from my JK. It looks like the rear window will definitely not work on this cart, can anyone who has tried it confirm? The door and freedom top cart will obviously work just fine. So I'm wondering whether I should sell this and buy the JT cart, mod my cart, or combine a custom top cart with my existing door cart. Ideas welcome.

We went straight from winter to summer here in AZ, so I probably won't do top and doors off until fall. It's already stupid hot, all of a sudden.

I had the Lange JKU system, they make a conversion kit to JT for the system for 100 bucks. I'll let you know when it arrives next week how it works (they sent me the wrong one, so they are replacing it). So far mine is sitting on the rubber blocks on a furniture pad in my garage.

If I was using that cart or placing window down, I'd try to find something to cover the window to (topside) just in case something is dropped on it... I've looked up replacement cost .:crying: something to think about.... Must be that I've replaced my LJ one 3 times.

Here is the new converted Lange Hoist a top- Pretty easy, took about half an hour to switch things over and move the pivot point for the location on the Hoist. I already had the hoist motor and frame from my JKU.

Installed the J-Barr today.

I purchased electric Hoist from Harbor Freight - about $70 with their 20% off coupon for the 440lb hoist.

Mounted it on ceiling in garage right behind garage door opener. Since pulling the top straight up would result in hitting the garage door opener .... I ran a fixed chain length from hoist down to the J-Barr and then put a pulley on the ceiling at the far back of garage wall and then the hoist back down to the J-Barr.

Therefore, when I activate the pulley in actually pulls the top up and back toward the wall so that it clears the garage door opener as it raises. It raises at about a 45 degee angle up and back - perfect for my situation. Pefect for storage and out of the way.

Also since it is a fixed chain length from the hoist down to the top of the car - there is no way to lower the J-Barr to the point it would impact the top of the Gladiator. I have the chain set to bring it down to about 3" above the roof - so at that point lowering the hoist more just brings down extra line but the J-Barr goes no lower.

I’d find a way to get it to a ceiling storage situation. The floor is just begging for damage.
