Oh boy, I don't know if I even want to admit this.
Sh*t does happen though. The Jeep I have with the
lift will clear the door opening by about 1". My garage
does not have power so have to prop the door open
with vice grips. Ended up drilling a hole through the
channel so I just have to insert a screwdriver through it.
So this past December we had a really nice day and I
was excited to get the Jeep out for a drive. Not thinking
I started backing out slow and heard an awful sound
then it hit me I forgot to prop up door. "SWEAR WORDS"!
Get out to check and sure enough the small metal
handle on door, starting right at top of rear window
and dead center had some lunch from the top.
Went up over top and in around 4". Gouged a nice
piece out of the rear.
Now if this was a few years ago when I was really
picky about my vehicles I would have been very upset.
Granted, I was not happy but thought, stuff happens.
Propped the door open and went on a drive, all good.
Not a hard fix. Go to body shop, remove and leave
top, go home and when done go back and install.
I still call myself, in the works of Red Foreman, "Dumba**".
