I’ve seen so many people talking prices about the Gladiator over the last 6 months. Most of the time I laugh and shake my head.

Is it me or are these people most likely guessing what the price is going to be and are out of touch with reality?

Yes, the Gladiator is a new design by Jeep, finally, and yes, it is very cool looking and unique to most. However, some of these price points I’ve seen people guessing are totally unreasonable and ridiculous.

The Gladiator is a mid size truck. There for it has to compete within that category. The price point for mid size trucks are anywhere from 18k-42k, respectively. I’ve seen a loaded, top of the line tocoma TRD for 42k. That’s every bell and whistle you can think of.

Now, why on earth would a Gladiator start at 40k base? Why would they be price thousands and thousands more then any other mid size truck? Jeep is competing with other midsize trucks, and with mid size truck prices, duhhh.

These people talking about these insane prices, “take my money”, “I’ll 2nd mortgage my home”, are not in touch with reality. Possibly they don’t know anything about the automotive buying Industry? I don’t see why the Gladiator wouldn’t start at a price point where the JL starts at, or a thousand or so more? No hate just trying to speak logically.

Thoughts?

The general consensus is 3k over JL starting price for like trim levels. The JT has a few extra goodies that most guess will inflate the price over the JL.
My thoughts exactly. It kinda of makes me sick when I see some of the prices guessed upon. It’s like, but why? I talked to my dealer near me (more hear say), but he told me 2k above JL, which sounds reasonable. I’ll shell out the extra 2k for the new design and Jeep name.

For sure. I think 2k is even better Guestimate. I said 2500 way back when and I’ll stick with that. My biggest wonder is what is the surprise that is going to be revealed at release announcement? Jeep executives hinted in an interview, I think at the Detroit show, that they have a surprise announcement left to make. I’m hoping a better price than they estimated.

I’m with you on this. I’ve actually been told by three different dealerships it will be very similar to JL pricing. There’s no way the base price is going to be 40k. I’m actually confident it’s going to be at the priced the same as the JL. Esp when you look at the competition.

2-3k max over JL for sure. They are already overpriced now

Equally above JL price point and below Grand Cherokee price point, is the JT price point, my opinion. So, $32,770 MSRP JT Sport no options.

You will see JLU's about 60K on the lot right now. High end pricing of current models fueling expectations.

Read for what their build is to see pricing is pretty exact, if speculative, compared to JLU.

My thoughts.

Show me every bell and whistle on a TRD Pro for 42k. That’s a bargain for sure. TRD pros get all the way up to 48k quick. MSRP no mark up.

I’m just wondering if the OP laughed and shook his/her head while posting the exact same thing. Sorry, I found it ironic...
