Hi, I have the mopar twill soft top for my 2021 gladiator and while it opens fine, it won't close without manually pushing the "lift support strut" (68398990AA) in. It's difficult to do since it needs to be done on both sides and I'm wondering if anyone has found a fix for this other than replacing the part.

I tried to attach a couple videos - one of it opening correctly and the second what happens when I try to close it.

The pictures here show the strut elbow
1. at a 90 degree angle (when closing, it should move this way).
2. in a straight line while closing it
3. where it ends up when trying to close it - it moves down and in instead of out and up, which makes it impossible to close the top (the top will sit straight up at a 90 degree angle from the roof)

Anyone ever come across this and know how to fix it?

@AllMoparParts.com

But I have no problem with mine. So the part must be defective. Are you under warranty?

looks like your missing a bracket/tab. I'll go look at mine real quick but there's supposed to be a tab that keep that from back like that.

edit: your is correct, looks just like mine. still confused on how yours rocks all the way back cus mine doesn't when fully opened. is your frame properly mounted and fully locked forward. did you fully remove the soft top and some point?

I have not used mine yet, but when the salesman put it down and up a couple of times, he did it with one hand. He also said to use the two velcro straps to hold it down. He said driving at higher speeds and bumps is not good for the top without the straps. I'll find out this weekend coming.

Oh, it shouldn't rock all the way back? I'm not exactly sure how to check if it's all correct, but I installed it myself 2 years ago and it's worked fine for the last 2 years - this just started happening the other week.
