@ShadowsPapa and all you other smart guys out there----especially if anyone is a current Jeep mechanic at a dealership.
Getting ready to hook up a JScan and found this near the OBDII plug in. I assume it's a GPS tracker but it definitely wasn't on my Jeep before but suddenly is. I've paid for UConnect service every year for the auto insurance discount and am 99% sure it isn't required for uconnect. Can anyone confirm?
I never agreed to it and am assuming the dealership put it in last time I was in for a warranty issue and installing new tires on my 2022 JT.
What I did do a month prior was buy the most comprehensive extended Mopar warranty from the dealership. Rereading the warranty it clearly states it won't honor it if there is extreme on/off road use. At the time I assumed they would determine misuse from the onboard computers that are part of the engine/vehicle management system in every vehicle.
Obviously I'm going to have a talk with the dealership on why I wasn't notified and what happens when I take it off. I drive 80mph regularly just to keep with the flow of traffic---concerned a dealership will claim that's extreme driving if I ever need engine work.
Has anyone else found this on their Jeep---it's not the usual gps tracker mopar dealers use.
