Haven’t been able to get any help on the other RV forums, maybe someone here can help.

I just bought a new travel trailer and installed a toshiba TV in the main living area and a Westinghouse in the main bedroom. The two TVs are on the same wall, almost in the same area just the other side of the wall.

I have the stock antenna with stock Signal booster, and have the signal booster on (green light). My toshiba gets antenna signal fine and displays channels, But as soon as I cut the other TV on the antenna signal disappears.

I have tried this with the Westinghouse Coaxial antenna plugged in and disconnected and it does the same thing. I have narrowed it down to when I cut the Westinghouse on, it cuts off the signal to the antenna.

Any ideas ????

How do you have it wired?
Does the Westinghouse work normal if it is the only one connected?
Is the stock system capable of driving two sets?
Reverse the wiring from the splitter to the sets. Does the problem follow the set or the port?

If it is wired correctly, my first suspicion would be a defective TV.

Good questions to pursue. Also, does your trailer have an input switch box to toggle between different sources (i.e., antenna, cable, DVD player)? And, if so, do those settings affect devices independently or simultaneously? Trace the wiring, if possible, to see if it makes sense.

Also, a long shot, but do you use the same remote device to control both TVs? I had a situation in our previous RV where we would make a selection with the remote in the main living area and it would also reach the bedroom TV and do things that weren’t intended. Unlikely in your case with different brands, but possible if you use a universal remote.

Swap cable ends from the Toshiba to the Westinghouse and vise-versa....shut everything down, disconnect electrical and then re-apply power.

If there's no difference, same $hit happens, then the problem is in the TV.

If things change and the other TV becomes operational, then look at replacing your source selector and the cable.

And if none of this works, sell your new travel trailer and go to the rooftop Gladiator tent approach...

Hey guys thanks for all the input! I spent the day trying several of the things above and determined it was the TV... some how when it was powered it was shorting out the powered antenna. Yep brand new TV.. Going back to bestbuy tomorrow. Thanks for all the help and advice!
